Ritterguts Gose is a top-fermented, sourish and slightly salty-tasting beer that was first brewed in 1824 – it’s the special beer of Leipzig! The Gose is an own, very old type of beer that does not correspond to the German purity law because Gose is much older than it. Even today, it is still brewed with an admixture of coriander and salt in the traditional way with a special yeast in open fermentation. Its particular character our Gose gets thereby and by lactate fermentation during the maturing.

SB internetbeställningssortiment, flaska Lund. Underbar etikett. Fint skum bra lacing. Luktar veteöl. Vitt skum som Martha ungefär. Sur sallad balanserar. Uppfriskande. Citron och lite salt i kanten. Bananestrar av sydtysk veteöls jäst. Ett sammelsurium av smaker. Tre öl på en gång. Weiss Wit och limonade.

500ml bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy medium gold, with a white head. Malty, citrusy, slightly sour aroma, faint caramel, bread, lightly hoppy. Dry, light bodied, low bitterness, balanced CO2. Malty, salt, fairly sour taste, citrus, lemon peel, hints of yeast and hops. Light, refreshing, very clean and well made. (2015-04-03)

@ Havregatan 150328. Bottle (500 ml) from Systembolaget. Fruity, malty and sour with salty and light spicy notes, quite sweet, light to medium body with a watery to oily texture. The finish is dry and sour with fruity and malty notes.

(500ml bottle from Systembolaget) Pours very lightly hazed medium gold with tiny white head and no lace. Aroma of tart lemon, salt, apple cidery fruitiness, berry?, grainy wheat, coriander (leaves and seeds), slightly sour and with a subtle overripe fruit/barnyard character. Palate has tart green apple, lemon zest, lactic yoghurt notes, salt right from the start, and some wheat/pils type lightly sweet grainy malt. In the middle, coriander seeds give a light bitterness, salt fairly apparent, grains, a little lactic, lemon zest. Finish is semi dry with salty/lactic character clinging to the roof of the mouth, faint green apple, lightly mineral. Light, slightly watery body with above average carb. Not bad, has the characteristics of the style but doesn’t really hold a candle to some new world interpretations of the style in terms of complexity or depth of flavour.

Bomber from Wilbur’s. Appearance: half finger white head that does not last, gold color, clear, Aroma: wheat, light grass, slight fruit. Palate: light body, average to lively carbonation, dry finish, sparkling texture. Taste: sweet wheat right into a decent yeasty fruity sweetness that is pleasant going into a slight tartness that just lasts for a second, dissipating into light grassiness. Overall, very good, super drinkable, very refreshing. Very enjoyable.

Paid $6.49 for a 500ml bottle at 7-11 Kittery, ME. Aroma is sour wheat, coriander and sea salt. Carbonation is on the fizzy/ a bit too high side. Base is grain and wheat with tart lemon and a very mild salt. Salt almost not noticed. Very mild acidity. I wonder how this brew has changed over the years? Jeez, I really need to take a trip to Germany.

Väldigt speciell. Syrlig och faktiskt ganska frisk. Funkar nog bättre till mat än som sällskap.

500ml bottle. Hazy golden with tiny head vanishing to leave no trace whatsoever. Fresh, slightly sour funky aroma dominated by salt and cilantro. Fresh, somewhat acidic taste with soft, fresh cilantro and some (rocky) saltiness. Light mouthfeel, light carbonation. Very refreshing.
