COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ritterguts Gose is a top-fermenting, sour and slightly salty tasting special beer of Leipzig. The Gose is an own, very old beer type and does not correspond to the German purity requirement. It is brewed traditionally with coriander and salt - thereby and by the additional lactic acid fermentation her quite special characteristic gets the Gose. It has certain resemblances to the Lichtenhainer beer as well as to the Belgian Geuze.

Cloudy golden pour with a thick white head. Solid aroma of salt, sourness, wheat, mild citrus. Very good flavor of sourness, wheat, salt and citrus. The body is medium to full with an oily texture and soft carbonation. This is very interesting.

Bottle @ RBBSG III. My first ever gose! Clear orange, white head. Aroma is lemon, sour. Taste is sour, salty, yeast. Weird style.

Perfectly clear orange gold pour with very short lived light airy white head. Mild sour aroma, like you just passed by someone eating sauerkraut. Taste follows nose with a little sweetness like a weak apple cider. Surprisingly enjoyable

500ml bottle [a generous local-local trade add-on due to bartlebier’s bounteousness]. Clear, orangey golden colour with average, thick, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Sourish aroma has salty notes of Sauerkraut with a cathartic effect on the sinuses, hints of brine, a herbal touch of dill. Taste is slightly sourish with hints of Sauerkraut and mustard, subtle malt sweetness, a salty touch, brine, herbal hints of dill, gherkin; minimally biting, super-soft palate, very well balanced, primely refreshing. Excellent.

50 cl bottle from Meny Åsgårdstrand. Pours hazy amber with a small white head. Aroma is salty with notes of spices, wheat, yeast and fruit. Flavour is salty and light tart with a soft fruit finish. Quite a special beer style. Not my kind of beer

Bottle thanks to summer secret santa. Pours cloudy orange, medium creamy off-white head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Coriander hits first on the aroma, followed by clear notes of lemon, sea breezes, some hay. Flavor is light sweet, light tart, lemony, salty on the finish primarily, some grain. Medium body, prickly carbonation. Pretty decent.

0.5L tap at Gosenchenke Ohne Bedenken (Leipzig). Pours hazy pale with a small white head. Aroma is sour (as expected), with some light malt. Flavor is fairly uni-dimensionally sour with some salt as well. Caraway schnapps helps this! Some sweetness creaps in the middle, but finishes with long, mild sour flavor. Light body with a slick mouthfeel and average carbonation. Overall, the beer is quite similar to a geuze from Belgium, and is certainly an interesting regional beer, but not my favorite style.

Draft. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Pretty standard for what I’ve come to expect from this style--tart lemony notes, moderate acidity, a wheaty base, and some light salty notes. Quite drinkable.

0.5 l bottle purchased from Hopfen and Maltz in Berlin (great bottle shop!). Very nice gose, not too sour but tart and flavorful. Great sour, easy to drink.

On draft at Stone Bistro. Hazy pale golden pour, with a white head. Bready/crackers, lemon zest, tartness, light salt, some fruitiness, and faint notes of coriander. Light body.
