Original Sin was born out of the NYC experience. The founders, all NYCíers, came to see the need for a superior cider, a cider that was clean and complex with a noticeable bite. The quest to create the perfect recipe encompassed both day and night. Day was spent in upstate in a winery, tasting, testing and mixing. Nights were spent in NYC bars, getting feedback from bar owners and patrons. The result, Original Sin Hard Cider was released to immediate acclaim from sources as diverse as the The New York Times, Paper Magazine, and Market Watch.

Very faint nose of apples. Pour is almost a clear as water. Alcohol is detected early on on the palate. Only a light, watered down taste of apples. Not offensive, but very uninspired. The overall lack of flavor is completely unacceptable.

Rated based on notes taken 14 July 2012 -- This is an okay cider. Maybe a little thin for my preference but not bad.

Iím not sure why this cider gets a bad wrap, it has a very distinct taste and is a really unique cider. Itís brewed with champagne yeast, so it is much more dry compared to a standard cider and even tastes similar to champagne. It also only has 7 grams of sugar, probably the lowest Iíve seen in a cider. Overall, itís one of the best, if not the best, cider Iíve ever had.

Pour is a cloudy chalk color with a fizzy head. Aroma is nothing special as artificial apple is the only thing you detect. Flavor is much of the same. Very artificial and watery.
