This is a sweet and fruity pale lager. Kind of unusual but not entirely unappealing. I guess kind of an ale-like change of pace vs. the usual Japanese fair.

redlight (2289) - Winter Park, Florida, USA - NOV 14, 2012
Cereal grains and honey aromas with hints of grass. Pours clear blonde with a white head that dissipates quickly. Light cereal flavors with hints of corn and hints of grassy hops. Finishes very light and dry.

Bottle. Slightly reddish golden pour with a nice white head that disappeared quickly. Grain, grass. Light body. Crisp. Pretty nice for this style.

Can: Poured a golden color with thin white head. Aroma was sweet grass. The taste was of soggy cardboard.

hayduke (2933) - Eureka, California, USA - SEP 27, 2012
This was a joint tasting with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. This poured a clear light gold with good sized white head. Nose of light malts and floral hops. Light in body with a very clean and smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is pale malts and floral hops. Light bitter finish. A better than average pale lager.

Strykzone (3814) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - SEP 25, 2012
Bottle from Hayduke. We had it together via facebook chat. This poured a hint of gold and was crystal clear. A nice white head. This was not unpleasant at all and that was a concern. It offered some honey, grain, and gentle floral hops. The hops added a bit of bitterness. For the style this was pretty good.

Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Grainy sweetness, with some malty weirdness in the background. Can’t really put my finger on it. Not awful.

maekchu (1090) - Hirakata, JAPAN - SEP 16, 2012
Can. Fairly repugnant aroma, some malt, some chemicals. Bright yellow. Harsh initial, with a bit of grass; mid goes metallic, with just a touch of malt; finish is quite bland. Thin body. This is junk. I mean, it is beer in a way, but it has so many adjuncts: rice, corn, and starch. Probably would taste better on a steaming hot day in Okinawa.

mansquito (2506) - Nueva York, New York, USA - JUN 29, 2012
H-Mart, Merrifield, VA 633ml ($5.50): Pours a pale gold with a white head. Aroma is very light. Body is also very light, but it does have a pinch of hops. This doesn’t really have any offensive elements and is absurdly easy to imbibe.

Orion Premium Draft Beer has a medium-to-thick white head, a somewhat hazy, bubbly, yellow-golden appearance, and a nice amount of lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of sweet, lightly-toasted barley malt, cracker, and sugar, and it has a very full smell- wonderful! Taste is of sweet, light barley malt, delicate cracker, sugar, a mild hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Orion Premium Draft Beer finishes crisp, refreshing, mostly dry, and super drinkable. This is an incredibly balanced, almost perfect lager beer. I am stunned by it, and I think you should seek it out! RJT
