SDalkoholic (1186), Chula Vista, California, USA Feb 7, 2009 Served from a bottle at King’s Fish House in Eastlake: Crates small foamy head which dies rapidly. Crystal clear body light in its golden color. Flavor is a crisp and refreshing yet boring just like most Japanese macros heavily dosed with rice and malt. Soonah (900), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Feb 5, 2009 Standard clear golden pour with a decent white head and some lacing. The aroma was thin malt and not much else. The flavor was malt with a bit of tart citrus. Clean finish, no lingering aftertaste. An easy drinking, forgettable addition to my sushi dinner. brewski519 (395), Morrisville, North Carolina, USA Jan 2, 2009 Spent many nights in Okinawa drinking this brew in many of the local restaurants. This beer pours a golden yellow color as you would expect with a standard lager. Aroma of grain and malts. Nothing extraordinary but quenched my thirst when it counted. NJBeerman013 (768), Trenton, New Jersey, USA Dec 4, 2008 11.3 oz bottle. Pretty solid yet unremarkable beer. It is as normal as a pale lager gets. Very good and very refreshing. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Nov 27, 2008 Pours a clear pale gold with a fizzy head that is gone quickly. Aroma is very light and mostly sweet malt with a hint of soapy hops. Flavor is pretty standard for the style and very light. No detectable off flavors, which is a plus, but nothing great happening either. High carbonation, thin watery palate, no finish to speak of. It’s a beer. Ernest (4481), Boulder, Colorado, USA Nov 20, 2008 Bottle.
Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is clear light to medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (grain), trace hops (herbs), with a light note of soap.
Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively/fizzy carbonation. dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Oct 23, 2008 I thought this was pretty solid for a pale lager. No funk in the aroma or flavor. Smooth and light tasting, a bit of dryness near the finish. Doesn’t taste ricy. Pretty good. Had at Roy’s in Las Vegas. MrRain (415), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA Aug 29, 2008 12oz can poured into a lager glass. This can of beer was given to me as a gift. I’m not sure about it’s particular background but the labeling is in what I assume is the Japanese This beer looks fine. It is darker than a typical American pale lager. It has the expected aroma of additives. There is
also a stale aroma about it that I find pretty common in pale lagers. The palate is thin and a little oily, it isn’t crisp like a kolsh or grainy like a pilsener. There may be a touch of tar citrus tartness in the finish. All in all this is another beer for the masses. Unless you are an expert at pale lagers it isn’t much different than the hundreds of other examples on the beer market.
