If you’re in the mood for something very mellow, this might be your beer, but if you’re looking for a beer with any unique flavor in any respect, this is probably not the beer of choice. douglas88 (1583), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

It’s not great, but it was fairly cheap and I liked that it was from Okinawa. Pours a light gold with a thick white head. The aroma is grassy, with some apple and malt. The taste is fairly smooth, with a bit of metallic bitterness. Some grains and malt, grass, and a bit of pale lager stunk tail thrown in. Really not a bad lager. My tastes have moved on, but I will always enjoy this beer. BeerEssential (96), Massachusetts, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 8/20 | Mar 14, 2008 Once poured the weak head fizzled away in a matter of seconds. Apple-juice yellow colour with some bubbliness, but not overwhelmingly. Slight metallic tinge to the aroma, not sure if it was from the glass (rinsed and dried), the beer or possibly the metal cap (not sure how this was stored before I bought it, it was upright on the shelf and in my fridge). Taste was the typically Japanese lager dry with weak carbonation. No overtones to speak of. This is only for casual drinking, at best. A Japanese Budweiser. Golden with an aroma of citrus and lager malt. Delicate pilsner flavour with a bit of creaminess. Palate is light with a dry, crisp finish. Pleasant but not distinctive. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 3, 2008 633ml bottle at Arigato in Santa Barbara. Clear gold with a white head. Pretty neutral and somewhat grainy malt aroma. There is a light sweet maltiness in the flavor, with almost no bitterness at all. Pretty clean. Light and crisp palate. Not too bad. Goes well with sushi, but uneventful on its own. rayg1 (437), Ft. Mill, South Carolina, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Feb 1, 2008 Pours out a light golden color with a thin white head. Aroma is light hay and hops. Taste is clean and thin but slightly sweet of corn then a bit of fizzy carbonation and hops. Clean, simple, and straight to the point this is a session beer for sure that is just above American macro swill, but not by much. A very unremarkable beer. | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 3, 2008 Grass, rice, lemmon, pear and cinnamon in the aroma. Color of a bud light or any other Mass-Macro. Pours with a largish bubbly white head. Watery and bitter rice taste, but not in a very bad way, actually a decently refreshing aftertaste. Watery start to the mouthfeel ending very dry. Highly carbonated. Pretty boring. jimhilt (1674), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Dec 23, 2007 Pours with a pure white, two-finger head that goes slowly to a ring and leaving a good lace. Light carbonation and light bodied. Crystal clear golden amber color. Nose is weak malt. Flavor is bland, boring and inoffensive, sweet but insipid. Corn aftertaste. Buy only if you are bored with the macro lights. Cheap at $2.95 for a 633ml bottle from Colonial Spirits, Acton, MA.
