23-May-08 (633-ml bottle: Purchased 12-May-08 for $2.99 at Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, CA) Nothing too special with this Asian beer. Rice and bready sweetness are the principle flavors, but there’s a hint of spicy, mildly bitter hops in the background, plus a mild, lemony tartness in the finish. The beer shows better balance as it warms up, and this increases enjoyment and drinkability. Along with the standard rice, cardboard and adjuncty aromas, there’s also some lemongrass and peppery spice, so all is not lost in that department either. On the palate, it’s light in body, medium-high in carbonation, and somewhat refreshing from the lemony tartness. Golden-yellow in color with brilliant clarity. The fizzy, white head pours fairly bubbly and dissipates rapidly. Overall, I wasn’t impressed by the beer when it was cold, but it’s actually not a bad-tasting beer. However, it’s not enjoyable enough to purchase again.

33 cl can in Hong Kong. Light cold color, clear, with a nice lingering white head. Malty nose. Aroma is pretty malty, with grains and bread, somewhat doughy. Taste is sweetish but balanced, body is light to medium and finish somwhat sticky and sour. Tasty lager, nonetheless.

This beer of beers was enjoyed with some very mediocre sushi at Ten, Cíville (seriously, the next time someone tries to take me to a fucking sushi restaurant in the middle of central Virginia, Iím putting my foot down). Gold pour, large white head. General corny aroma, white bread, apple. Pretty inoffensive watery, light flavors. More apple, spritzy body. Light. Overall, whatever.

From a bottle. Pours almost clear gold with a bubbly white head. Tastes like malt, corn, dry feel and light sweetness. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like musky malt and biscuits.

833 ml. Bottle purchased from Ledgers. The beer of beers! Nice.the color is much richer than most pale lagers with a nice golden hue and a disspearinh white head. The aroma is pretty bland, but clean with dry bread, crackers and a super faint whiff of floral hops. The flavor has white bread crust, white rice and a hint of floral bitterness in the finish. Super clean and drinkable. I canít see myself craving this over a good German or Czech pils, but its much better than any BMC Iíve had.
