Can shared with my father-in-law. Colour is very pale yellow, well carbonated with a huge head. Nose is very similar to Yebisu Silk and so I suspect it’s got the same malt profile with wheat. It’s sweetish grainy cereal malt with an artificial lactic sweetness to it. Taste is the same. Finish is quite bitter and there’s a bit of citrous. Like if you had lemon juice diluted with water.

22oz bottle shared with my wife on 26th May 2016: poured into two La Chouffe badged tulips at our daughters. Last white crowns on both glasses, the beers body a light golden affair. Mild orange and herbal notes in the nose and taste, although the aroma was very, very weak. Refreshing but a little uninteresting and a typical International Lager/Pilsner in so much as being clean, clear and clinical in looks and flavour.

I’ve had this numerous times over the years, but noticed on my recent trip to Okinawa that this has got markedly better (not sure if the recipe changed). Also the quality of the beer I had on draft varied fairly significantly, but overall, I can say this is my second favorite Japanese mainstream beer now. At its peak condition this shows great toasted malt and cereal character with a rich malty backbone. I will rate for what I think my overall experience was with the beer, but at its best its a good 3.4/3.5 range

1 pt. 5.4 oz bottle. Poured a slightly hazy golden with a thin white head that dissipated quickly. Crisp taste of Pilsner malt with a smooth finish and balanced acidity. Average carbonation, thin body.

Light golden with a modest off-white head. Plenty of grain, and light fish oil scent. Very sweet and grainy. Some herbal bitterness brings it back late in the quaff. Dry old malt finish. A thicker feel. A heavy pale lager.

Light sweet grain aroma. Clear pale golden body with a bright white soap bubbly head about an inch thick. The head lingers a good time compared to others this style. Mild bitterness which is offset by a sweet grain taste. Light bodied and has a crisp refreshing finish.

Not much aroma. Lighter yellow color, no cloudiness of course. Lighter fragrant start and light finish ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A golden beer with a huge white head. The aroma has notes of straw and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, and citrus fruits, leading to bitter finish.

On draft in Naha. L: pours a very pale straw, clear, minimal carbonation, big creamy white head. S: almost no aroma, just cereal, wheat, mustiness, macro lager malt. T: tastes wheaty somewhat, light cereal, quite peppery yeast in the middle that quenches nicely, ends rather aqueous. F: very light and crisp, meant to be cold. O: just another macro lager. Enjoy with your Okinawan cuisine on a hot night.

500ml can into shaker. Can says ’Orion Draft Beer’. Distant hop nose. Clear golden amber beer with fluffy white head. Medium carbonation. Clean mineral taste and feel. Finish has a slight tang, a touch of metal then a finishing wave of sweet malt. Not bad, easy drinking and a little different to other Asian lagers.

For your Happy time indeed!
Can from a strangely set up convenience store in Tainan, Taiwan.
Bright, medium gold with a short-lived fluff. Drabby, steamed cabbage nose with little else. So sweet it’s cloying. Featherweight body gives the perception of airiness but it resides far too long. Chalky, pasty feel and taste. Really not good at all. No hops, Light floral note seems more chemical than natural. Astringent peak. Meh!!! (35cL can, BBE 05/16, Puro [?], Hai’an Road, Tainan, Taiwan)
