2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tasted this in the Saltcot, Saltcoats (JDW) in November 2011. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear pale straw in colour with a thin white head. Citric hop resins present in the short aroma. Thin but refreshing mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a pithy grapefruit flavour full of dry citrus notes. Dry dusty hop resins impart a lemony bitterness to the tart aftertaste which compliments the malt component well. Dry and astringent grapefruit peel finish. An excellent summer session Golden ale - although maybe too dry for some. Reminded me of Texas from the Houston brewery?
