Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. A slighlty hazy amber beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty combined with flowery hop notes. The flavor is sweet malty with quite strong fruity diacethyl notes, and a very bitter finish - surprisingly bitter for a golden ale.

2nd December 2008. Clear brown beer - a small creamy head. Highly spiced beer! Lots of ginger and cinnamon. Not quite overpowering but unapologetically spicy and I would struggle to drink much of it.

Hazy amber color. Strong cinnamon aroma (I don’t love cinnamon anymore, a reaction to living for some years in the Nordic, but it’s not bad). The flavor instead is dry, thin, with harsh cinnamon, poor. Not interesting.

Amber color. Strange Ale, quite simple, dry mouthfeel, light caramel flavor, and some manure aroma and flavor.

Bottle. It pours an almost clear body, golden in color and with a small, dense, off-white to light beige head. Ginger, cardamom, cloves and some malts in the aroma. Sort of cake-like. The flavor is pretty much the same, with some bitterness and a little sweetness. Mostly dry though, with a pleasant carbonation level. Medium body. Not as spiced in the finish as it is in the aroma, I think that’s probably unfortunate. Sure drinkable, but boring. 140418

Oakes (12167) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 11, 2014
Brownish-amber. Not much head. Spicy aroma is vaguely gingery with a bit if cinnamon. It has a fairly full body for the alcohol level, and the palate is light, sweetish and approachable, with ginger as the main characteristic. The finish has some slightly biscuity amber malts as well. Decent spiced ale.
