Bottle from Sainsburys. Slightly hazy, very light yellow beer. Bit lively, thin white head. Zesty, grassy hop smell. Flavour is... slightly disappointing. Tangy, lemony taste but it disippates into an almost watery nothingness quite quickly and only leaves a light, bitter aftertaste. It’s not bad by any means. It tastes nice but it’s disappointing that the flavour doesn’t last longer than it does.

Handpull cask at the Cavens Arms, Dumfries. Mid-gold with a decent white head. Soft citrus aroma, very one-dimensional. I really loved the taste: savoury and herbal, with a note of astringency and the very hint of sweetness around the edges. Dry finish. Very impressive: a simple recipe which exhibits the brewers’ originality and prowess.

500 ml bottle with a BB date stamp of July 2016. Pours with a gold-amber tone and a small head that soon reduces to a ring but manages to leave spotty lacing. Mild aroma with about equal contributions from light malts and spicy hops. Flavor: more flavorful than usual for style as is most obvious in the finish and aftertaste that feature bready wheat and barley malts with a well proportioned addition of hops. Feel: medium-light body; medium+ carbonation; crisp.

Bottle. A by the numbers supermarket golden. These are replacing brown bitter as the generic supermarket ale.

Floral apricots and fruit. Dirty yellow with soapy head that dissapates. Maybe served too chilled. Wouldn’t seek out.nothing special.smokiness in there.

500ml bottle courtesy of my brother. Light ale with floral nose. Citrus, hoppy taste. A refreshing ale that would go well with crisps or nuts.

0.5l bottle. This is a blurry golden-ish looking one, lots and lots of unfiltered particles floating about and it has a medium sized really bubbly just off-white head with a nice retention. It’s really fruity - sweet on the nose! Like smelling a papaya really. Zesty fruitiness, lots of both yeasty esters and diacetyl, tropical juices that has been standing in the sun and fermented. Blood oranges and it’s quite floral as well. A strange strange super fruity aroma. It tastes alright. Not overwhelming on the fruitiness, but it still has those sweet estry zesty tones. In the mouth it feels this oily, surprisingly considering the abv, and it’s just below average on the carbonation. Low bitterness, but it has a grassy thing compensating a bit for all the sweetness. There is also a big amount of buttery diacetyl in this, Minerallish finish and aftertaste. Quite easy to drink, but way to heavy on the butter. 12.02.2014
