Commercial Description:
"The nose on this beer is ripe and fruity with slightly vinous esters, married to interesting hop notes - the colour of a glorious red ruby wine."

[bottle] Roasted malt vanilla aroma with some coffee and a touch of dried fruit. Opaque, garnet-black with wisps and a beige ring. Potent roasted malt flavour with vanilla, bread crust, biscuits, and smoke. Nutty bitter finish. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation.

Bottle. Pours very dark brown with a small head. Aroma of roasted malt, raisins, figs, caramel, chocolate and vanilla. The flavour is roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, fruit and vanilla. Perhaps too thin in the mouthfeel though it’s balanced nicely and I found this beer very drinkable.

BLack pour with a small dark brown head that dissipates. Aroma of dark fruits and roasted malt. Flavor of dark fruits, some grapes, dirty gas station coffee. A bit of smoked peat. A slight mineral sourness. Thin mouthfeel, low carbonation. Meh.

Huge aroma of sweet coffee and chocolate. Pours almost black with clear ruby edges. Thick rocky tan head. Flavor is more of the same with the emphasis on the coffee- also some caramel. Nicely balanced and clean finish with some coffee aftertaste. Very drinkable.

Dark and sweet with notes of fruit. Seemed a little to sweet but plenty of flavour.

I liked this dark beer. The dark ale pours deep from the brown bottle. The flavor is deep and woody with a taste that reminds me of sauna. A dark chocolate nutty flavor.
