Commercial Description:
"The nose on this beer is ripe and fruity with slightly vinous esters, married to interesting hop notes - the colour of a glorious red ruby wine."

Bottled(500ml). -Dark brown (almost black) coloured, small cappuccino head, chocolate fruity nose. Roasted coffee, chocolate and dark fruits taste with notes of licorice and smoke and tobacco. Smooth and easy drinkable, very good beer but to be honest something is missing.

Big dark brown lasting head. Opaque black body. Fruity chocolate and coffee grounds aroma with earthy licorice notes. Excellent harmony and balance. Dry-sweet-acidic earthy coffee and chocolate taste with watery notes. Smooth, mild mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Harmonic and balanced. Faint dry-acidic burnt minty coffee aftertaste with vague fruity notes. Highly drinkable and nice, but th aroma is the best bit. (0.5l bottle, Centra, Oslo.)

07/04 0.5 l bottle courtesy of ogivlado, great thanks for sharing! Well, I thought we’re having stout, it turned out to be my first old ale. It poured very dark brown, almost black with small brown head. Just the coffee aroma. Flavor is, on the other hand relatively complex. Starts with coffee and tobacco, spiced with some sweet fruits, chocolate and also herbs. It’s well balanced, being nor sweet nor bitter nor acidic, but all of it. Finish strictly follows the basic thing from flavor with that tobacco becoming better. An interesting beer, not bad at all.

Bottle at WOB. Pours a dark amber color with thick tan head. Aromas of malted fruit and choc. Hints to coco and coffee on the palate with a malty finish.

500 ml bottle from Meny Liertoppen. Translucent dark ruby-brown. Huge fluffy tan head quickliy fading to a thin layer of foam. Aroma of plummy fruitiness, dryish dark malts and milk-chocolate. Whiffs of cellar and earth. Taste is quite vineous, has a strong malt body, quite sourish with low bitterness. Notes of cocoa, dried dark fruits and a certain acidity reminding me of unripe berries. Slick mouthfeel. Well-bodied considering the low abv. Finishes with an almost tart fruitiness and some dry, smoky malt tones. Interesting beer, high drinkability.

Bottle. Pours a severe dark chestnut color with an uneven loose tan head. Aroma of light sweet grains and a mild fruitiness. Taste has a sweet malt base with some English hops and a pleasant earthiness towards the finish. Mild but certainly enjoyable.

0,5 l bottle. Pours almost as black (Coke) with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and a touch of anise. Smooth malty taste, fruity and some smoke as well. Bitter dark chocolate at the end. Lovely beer.

Bottle shared with heavy and ogivlado, courtesy of the latter (thanks!). Poured an extremely dark brown body with a dark off white head that went away fast. Notes of dark chocolate and yoghurt in the nose, some coffeeish notes and something odd... alcohol? Taste... dark chocolate and chicory, mild, fine, tasty, fruity (dried figs definitely). Nice but nothing special.
