"The nose on this beer is ripe and fruity with slightly vinous esters, married to interesting hop notes - the colour of a glorious red ruby wine."

Bottle from Bernies Off License, Shirley, Solihull. Poured a murky dark brown with a round broken off white head. The aroma is sweet caramel malt. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet with a big rich malt, burnt treacle bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Fruity fig presents strongly on the nose. The flavour comes more of a fruity coffee. There's a memory from my childhood in the fruitiness of 'Japanese cherry trees' & there tart slightly sweet cherries. Good easy drinker. Surprisingly refreshing fora dark beer.

500ml bottle from Liviko licquor store in Tallinn, almost black dark reddish brown colour, small mostly vanishing tan head, fair lacing. Moderately malty roasty aroma of plum, dates, light coffee and a hint of chocolate with some earhy and resinous hops and fruity yeast esthers. Taste is initially balanced bittersweet, turning into a longish bittersweet and somewhat acidic finish with a somewhat burnt feel. Medium body, slick mouthfeel, average carbonation. A fairly enjoyable dark ale. A bit like a well made homebrew, which is way above 90% of commercial dark ales of this strangth.

Aroma: roasted and smoked notes, dried red fruits, caramel. Appearance: clear brown color, nice beige head. Taste: medium bitterness (heather, herbs), chocolate, roasted caramel, roasted dark malts, slightly acid, dry, roasted nuts Palate: low body and medium carbonation, roasted finish. Overall: Really good stuff. Intensive roasted notes (even smoked), well-balanced and easy drinkable, recommended.
