COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"The nose on this beer is ripe and fruity with slightly vinous esters, married to interesting hop notes - the colour of a glorious red ruby wine."

Dark brown to nearly black. Thin tan head. Low carb with just a trace of acidity in the end. Malt and element of pear drop in the mouth with fig and red berry qualities. All pretty restrained and a little thin.I would have liked a bit more concentration though.

22.11.2013. Hieman paahteista makeahkoa mallasta, suklaata tuoksussa.

Dark bottle, Tesco, Edinburgh City. Pours black with a thin brown head, subsiding quickly. Scent is an excellent, full-bodied, strong cocoa and coffee mix, overpowering any other notes. Taste is slightly harsh (too cold) but smooth. Palette finishes with citrus hints, slightly bitter. Good.

Pours a dark mahogany with a consistent, light brown head which lingers around for a few minutes. Aroma is weak cocoa, brazil nuts and slight malts. Taste is cocoa and weak red cherries. Medium-full bodied with an oily texture.

Aroma: Wood up front that almost comes off slightly smokey; malt character is complex- roasty, a little chocolate, a touch of nuttiness. Appearance: Dark ruby with a foamy tan head that settles into a skin. Flavor: Wood stays throughout; nuttiness comes forth a bit more than chocolate or coffee; some light raisin comes in more toward the finish, which is mostly dry wood. Palate: Light body, creamy texture, flat carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: Very nice beer that offers subtle complexities missing in so many American beers.

Tief dunkles rubinrot, fast schwarz mit leider schnell zerfallender hellen Krone. In der Nase Aromen von Rosinen. Im Antrunk erstaunlich leicht. Aromen von Röstmalz und verbranntes Karamell. Leicht säuerlich und etwas bitter. Insgesamt stimmig.
