COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"The nose on this beer is ripe and fruity with slightly vinous esters, married to interesting hop notes - the colour of a glorious red ruby wine."

Similar in aroma, body, and flavor to Traquair House, this is one of the most wonderfully aromatic beers Iíve ever had with oak, whisky, and smoky notes. Low alcohol, eminent drinkability and a dry finish kept me wanting more. It makes me long for a trip to the UK to try it cask conditioned.

Bottle from old backlog notes 07. Pours dark brown with reddish highlights and a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, chocolate, dark fruit, some peaty smoke, most of this is on the nose as the flavor is thin and mouthfeel a bit watery.

Aroma of malt and coffee, ebony colored with a thick tan short lasting head. Taste of coffee, and malt, with a watery feel and a dry palate.

thirstyrabbit (1065) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 17, 2014
Bottle. Dark brown body with a reddish hue. Medium tall thick head. Very light aroma, mostly resembling other classic old ales. Empty sourish taste with some muted vinous hints and not much else. Itís really like a watered down Old Tom or Old Peculier.

Pours deep brown with no head. Zero carbonation. Medium bodied. Struggled to find anything to get excited about.

500 ml bottle. Pour is dark like a porter, nice light tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, sugar, some milk chocolate, a hint of molasses. Taste is sweet caramel, bitter chocolate, a clean lager-like finish. Pretty decent.

Habanero (2445) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK - JUN 9, 2014
Bottled. Pours deep brown with a small, tan head. Aoma oof dark fruit, chocolate and smoke. Sweet flavor that ends up dry with bitter notes. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carb. A nice Ale indeed.

Marduk (2526) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 9, 2014
500ml bottle. Pitch black color. Medium size, beige head, stays. Sweet, raisins, licorice, chocolate, roast in aroma. Roast, sourish, coffee in taste. Thin and watery. Soft carbonation. Could it be watered down for some reason?

0,5L bottle. BB 05.15. Pours very dark ruby almost black with light tan head. The head stays for a moment. Aroma is flowery sweet, dark chocolate and milk chocolate. Taste is roast, fruits, sour notes, and malt. Overall: nice brew, but I would prefer more body.

ianwelby (411) - SCOTLAND - MAY 31, 2014
Near-black beer with a beige head and light malty smell. Flavour is toasty malt, subtle caramel and a touch of fruit. Itís quite full-bodied and finishes with a certain smokiness. Rather drinkable.
