"The nose on this beer is ripe and fruity with slightly vinous esters, married to interesting hop notes - the colour of a glorious red ruby wine."

The aroma is slightly smoked. The color is dark red with a light brown head. The flavor is good with strong notes of roasted and smoked malts. A really good beer.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pitch black indeed with only a small head. Very malty character, not only roasted but burned malt - almost peat-like. Very drinkable, but it honestly reminds me more of a porter. 230201

Dark brown soft, malty and toffeish. A very well balanced malt accented ale.

50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a golen amber glare and a light tan head. Light dark fruity aroma and mild malty aroma. Flavour is roasted mild and mild smoked. Smooth and roasted acidic at once. A bit thin bodied. Light smoked note into the finish.

Bottle, 4.6%. Papery, sour, roasted, and vinous aroma. Almost black colour, red shine. Small light brown head. The flavour is mostly roasted, slightly smokey. There is a lot of cream to it along with a little vinousness. Thin mouthfeel, could use some oats or something.

Bottled. Dark ruby red colour, mediumsized creamy head. Chocholate, weak roasted malt and flowery sweet aroma. Flavour is caramel and roast with some weak bitterish notes. Chocolate strong in finish and aftertaste. Wellbalanced and pleasant thing from Orkney Brewery.

dark ruby red, big smokey peaty aroma and flavor, nice malty sweetness tries to balance the smoke, light bitterness blends nicely with the smoke,
