Commercial Description:
"The nose on this beer is ripe and fruity with slightly vinous esters, married to interesting hop notes - the colour of a glorious red ruby wine."

not even a nice head on this beer maybe i should say there was not even a head on this beer. lack of taste with this beer too, watered down with the hints of chocolate in the watery taste. so to sum it up it tasted like a watered down hunk of chocolate. never going to buy this again dissapointing

Dark borwn to black produces a thin off white head. Bready aroma is very appealing. 8 months past due accoridng to the bottle date but oh well. Malty and toasted flavor, but thin bodied and a bitter finish. Not thrilleed with the watery consistency.

Bottle. Brown color with a ruby tint and a light brown head. A malty chocolate aroma with a smoke finish. Dry, toasted, the smallest hint of sweetness with a smokey malt base.

This ale poured a deep black colour with a very quick living rocky, tan coloured head. To the nose there are scents of coffee, caramel, burnt malts and cocoa. First taste was smooth but a little watery with roasted flavours most prodominant.. Slightly nutty with cooffee notes the finish was just as roasty as the beginning. Palate is burnt with molassass and caramel flavours lingering.

Bottle shared with heavy and ogivlado, courtesy of the latter (thanks!). Poured an extremely dark brown body with a dark off white head that went away fast. Notes of dark chocolate and yoghurt in the nose, some coffeeish notes and something odd... alcohol? Taste... dark chocolate and chicory, mild, fine, tasty, fruity (dried figs definitely). Nice but nothing special.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with some ruby hints. Has a roasted malty toffee aroma with some hints of coffee. Sweet malty slightly roasted fruity chocolate flavor with some vinous hints. Has a sweetish rosted malty finish.

500ml bottle. Shaker glass. Pitch black with a thin tan head. Aroma was of sweet smokey malt. Taste was smokey roast malt with a hint of coffee. The mouthfeel was a bit thin.

Bottle into a pint glass. Aroma and flavor are both quite smokey and malty sweet. Not bad, but quite average.
