COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"The nose on this beer is ripe and fruity with slightly vinous esters, married to interesting hop notes - the colour of a glorious red ruby wine."

A dark brown with a brown head and good lacing on the pour. Aroma of sweet lightly roasted dark caramel malt, some nice hints of cacao and espresso, with some nice dark ripe fruity esters. Taste affords us with some nice chocolate notes, some roasted caramel malt along with some nice ripe dark fruits, some plums, with some light bitterness. Palate is a medium slightly creamy texture with some light carbonation. Finishes with a sweet toasted slightly creamy dark caramel malts some cacao, some dark fruity notes and a light bitter ending for some balance. This is a good tasty and flavorful brew. Almost reminds me of a light version of an Imp Stout, very nice, easy drinking brew.

Smoky aroma over a very dark body. The flavor is much lighter than the aroma with a thinner Mouthfeel, too. I am getting sombre roasty Malts, burnt sugar, rye bead, salt, and smoked peat.

Aroma includes a bit of licorice, soap and bready or cereal. Taste is too flat or tasteless. Watery or too light, aroma promise more than taste gives. Too easy ;)

Pours a nearly opaque dark ruby brown wth a substantial and lasting light tan head. Aroma is raisins and roasted malt. Nice smooth malty sweetness comes through, along with a musty earthy toasted malt taste. Also detected an ever-so-slight vinous character and unsweetened cocoa with none of the uber-hopping we’re famous for in the USA. Really good Brit dark ale!
