JK (2479), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Apr 26, 2008 liked this very much. How is this not a smoked? There is smoke all over the place. Some peat as well. Medium sweet malt, and like red wine. Low carbonation and lightly spiced with an herbal, wildflower character. Thick and black. I found the alcohol to be entirely hidden and I thought this was about 1/2 has strong as it really is.
CaryTheDude (282), Ripon, Wisconsin, USA Oct 1, 2008 Crushed with Jakebra. Imagine standing infront of a grill and eating a hunk of smoked ham. That’s this beer in a nutshell. A little watery, reminds me of NG Smoke on the Porter. madmitch76 (1), , Essex, England does not count Oct 1, 2008 fghsdfgsdfgsd fgsdfgsd fsdfg sdfg dfg sdf dfgsd fsdfgsdfg d ssdfg sdfgd gsdfg sdfg sdfg sdfg sdfsd fsdfg sfg sfg weaselkenievil (374), Cheshire, England Sep 21, 2008 Bottle. Very dark brown with light brown thin head. Quite mild tasting, thin bodied, needs a little more substance. Slight dark chocolate with a little smoke in the finish. Far from offensive but just didn’t really kick me in the tastebuds. Or get me hoover the lawn drunk. presario (2441), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Sep 7, 2008 Bottle in Miami. Dark brown. Light head. Rich aroma with brown sugar, peat and smoked malt. Tasty flavour aspromised by the aroma. Burnt sugar sweetness. Peat and smoked malt with Scottish spice. Very nice. DrDavid (351), Johnson, Vermont, USA Aug 28, 2008 (Bottle). Smokey malt aroma. Color is dark reddish brown, with a small tan head. Very smokey flavor, balanced with some hops bitterness. Nice malty finish. Interesting and enjoyable brew.
