Bottle. Poured black with a tan head. Kind of a chocolaty licorice aroma. Thin mouth feel. Unsweetened chocolate and a bit of smoke from the malt. Kind of a weak cola taste.

Scopey (6242) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 11, 2014
Bottle at home. It pours black with a small tan head. The nose is roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, aniseed and salted caramel. The taste is bitter, roasty, liquorice, caramel, toasty, coffee and some peppery spice with a dry, bitter finish. Light-medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Decent, quaffable stout all accords.

Geruch sehr lecker nach Kaffee und Schokolade. Im Geschmack leider relativ wässrig mit einem säuerlich-aschigen Nachgeschmack. Der Nachgeschmack ist wirklich ganz merkwürdig.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours dark brown in color with a tan head. Roasted malts, dark syrup, wet wood and hints of smoked salty licorice in aroma. Roasted malty notes in taste, bit of some earthy and smoky notes as well. Dry in finish. Slightly bitter in finish with some burnt cocoa.

YigSvartka (58) - Manitoba, CANADA - APR 22, 2014
Minimal head. Dark brown hue. Caramel, roast, chocolate aroma, with much more emphasis on chocolate as opposed to roast. Unfortunately doesn’t have a taste to match the appeasing scent. Initially a nice combination of roast, hops, and bitter dark chocolate, but the finish is lacking. Very little flavour, and what does remain is mainly mild roast bitterness.
