A black stout which is brimming over with roast malt flavours, balanced with a complex hop blend. Really smooth with roasted aftertaste.

Body’s black, head’s beige-brown, and maybe some purple tones. Some fine lacing. Aroma; roasted malts, roasted coffee beans, dusty hops. Taste; roasted malts, cocoa, black chocolate, coffee, dusty hops, moves into cocoa-sauce and dry coffee in finish. Dry and nice on palate. Approved indeed. Pours nearly solid black with just a hint of lightening around the margins, two fingers of beige head diminishing gradually to a thin cap, moderate lacing (4/5). Nose is coffee, faint chocolate, dark roast malts, dark fruit, leather, tobacco, faint smoke (8/10). Taste is low sweetness and moderate bitter with some citrus tart, spice, and a hint of smoke (8/10). Medium body, prickly to moderate sustained carbonation, off-dry lingering bitter finish (4/5). Starts out quite well-behaved and pleasant - not too much sweetness, and a nicely bitter bite. The carbonation is too high for it to have a smooth texture, but it certainly prevents any mouth-coating behaviour, and keeps the body relatively light and crisp. It opens up nicely as it warms, with some dark fruit, leather, and tobacco coming out to play. A solid performer, and quite drinkable with its low ABV. (16/20)

Pours a dark brown/black with an off white head. Grassy, weedy, licorice aroma. Light dark chocolate, licorice, grassiness, light citrus... A bit messy but OK. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

"the richness of the body and flavor of this beer totally hides the fact that it’s only 4% abv. there is chocolate and some smoke on the nose. the feel is rich and very smooth. the finish smooth as well. my friend got way more smoke than i did out of this beer. i thought it was more like a thin bodied milk stout. sweet and tastes like malted chocolate with a hint of smoke. if this came in 6 packs, i’d be drinkin’ it lots!"

Bottle. Very dark with tan head that dissipated and light lacing. I get chocolate-cherry, tobacco, light play-doh, and roastiness. Nice dry bitter flavor with some coffee on the finish. Heavy on the carbonation.

From the bottle poured a dark brew with little head. Nice subtle aromas of earthy, roasty malt and a hint of chocolate. Flavor was all the above, a bit dry, with very little hoppyness. .

Black beer, medium brown head. Nose is roasty notes, malt, coffee. Flavor is roast, malt, grainy sour notes, coffee. Smoke in the bitter-roasty finish, lingering roast and coffee. A very quaffable stout

50 cl bottle from Liviko Alcostore in Tallinn harbour (€ 3,20), Sept 2014. BB Apr 2016. Pours an extremely dark brown (black in the glass) with a dark tan head that rather quickly drops down, leaving a thin layer and some beautiful lacing. Nose... very distinct Golding hops and roasted malts - to me this is gives off a strange "rubbery British sourness" I cannot seem to get accustomed to. I also get raw cocoa beans. Taste is more roasty with notes of cold coffee and very bitter chocolate. It begins with a medium sweetness, this quickly turns into roasty, more sour than bitter, and finishes with a mellow, roasty (again, rubbery) sourness. Body is light, it has a rather thin but prickly carbonation, palate on the dry side. Maybe I’ll grow to like this sort of stuff when I’m old.

Pours black with a one finger tan head. Aroma is of dark fruits and smoke. Taste is sweet at first then a bit of coffee and roasted malt. Low ABV kind of hurts this one. Didn’t get much better when warmer.
