A black stout which is brimming over with roast malt flavours, balanced with a complex hop blend. Really smooth with roasted aftertaste.

Not a fan. Dark pour with little head. Medicine aroma overwhelms chocolste. Taste is bitter with chocolste and coffee in the background. Just did not work for me.

Bottle. Chocolate, roasted barley, and hay aroma. Oil black with small head. Mildly sweet chocolate, malt, and dry bitter ash flavor. Body on the lighter side. Okay but kind of watery.

500ml bottle from Tallinn, black colour, small frothy mostly lasting brown head, good lacing. Moderately malty very roasty aroma of coffee and chocolate with moderate earthy and resiny hops and some smoke. Taste is very smooth compared to the aroma, slightly sweet at first with moderately bitter finish with moderate roastiness. Medium to full body, oily texture, average carbonation. One of the better stouts I’ve had.

Nearly clear, with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, blackened banana, toffee....and what reminds me of old latex paint. Taste is woody, caramel/chocolate malt...very light, an odd sort of earthy taste to this one..almost milky... Different, but pretty good.

Black with dark cream head. Aroma is a bit grassy with some light smoke and roasted malts. Flavour has a pleasant burnt/roasted malt bitterness and a hint of coffee.

Bottiglia 50cl, comprata da eataly e bevuta a casa. Nera con schiuma fine e persistente. Corpo leggero, forse un po troppo carbonata. Amara e tostata. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhold

Bottle shared at the chriso pre-Christmas tasting 2014 - London. Vintage c. 2004. Pours clear, dark brown with a frothy tan head. The nose holds notes of milk chocolate, toasty toffee, caramel. Light-medium sweet flavor with old wood, cocoa, ash, cardboard, dried berries, dirt. Light bodied with aveage carbonation. Sweet finish with burnt toast, mild cocoa, subtle roast, light cardboard, more berries, burnt caramel. Novel. Has held up reasonably well.

In fles van 0.5liter. Donker van kleur met een goede schuimkop. Chocolade koffie achtige smaak. Aparte nasmaak die ik niet kan omschrijven.

0.5l bottle at home. Dark colour. Brown head. First impression : stout. Coffee. Chocolate. The finish was to dry and little whisky taste. Not my taste.

Body’s black, head’s beige-brown, and maybe some purple tones. Some fine lacing. Aroma; roasted malts, roasted coffee beans, dusty hops. Taste; roasted malts, cocoa, black chocolate, coffee, dusty hops, moves into cocoa-sauce and dry coffee in finish. Dry and nice on palate. Approved indeed. Pours nearly solid black with just a hint of lightening around the margins, two fingers of beige head diminishing gradually to a thin cap, moderate lacing (4/5). Nose is coffee, faint chocolate, dark roast malts, dark fruit, leather, tobacco, faint smoke (8/10). Taste is low sweetness and moderate bitter with some citrus tart, spice, and a hint of smoke (8/10). Medium body, prickly to moderate sustained carbonation, off-dry lingering bitter finish (4/5). Starts out quite well-behaved and pleasant - not too much sweetness, and a nicely bitter bite. The carbonation is too high for it to have a smooth texture, but it certainly prevents any mouth-coating behaviour, and keeps the body relatively light and crisp. It opens up nicely as it warms, with some dark fruit, leather, and tobacco coming out to play. A solid performer, and quite drinkable with its low ABV. (16/20)
