NosirIwont (864), Aalborg Vestby, Denmark Jan 25, 2008 Cask @ The Wharf, Aalborg. Pours pitch black with a big frothy brown head. Great lacing. Aroma is complex; sweetish, tar, smoked + roasted malts. Notes of chocolate. Fruity notes appear as it warms. Flavour feels thin/watery compared to the aroma – a bit of a disappointment actually. Roasted notes. Finish is roasted as well, and with lingering grassy notes. An okay beer, but the aroma is way better than the flavour. 24-01-08. faroeviking (4169), Faroese Beer Republic über, Denmark Jan 25, 2008 Cask @The Wharf, Aalborg. Pours a pitch black colour with a small head. Soft roasty maltiness, smoke and some chocolate in the aroma. Rather thin mouthfeel. The flavour has roasted malt, smoke and bit of coffee. yespr (6400), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jan 24, 2008 Half pint cask at Charlies. Pours almost picthblack with a chocolate brown head. Vague aroma, slight citric and with a very faint note of malt. Roasted malt flavour with a mild chocolate smoothness. Hoppy fruityness and a nice bitterness into the finish.
