3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 OleR (4247) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 9, 2009
500 ml bottle from Meny Liertoppen. Clear pilsner golden. Mostly diminishing fingerthick white head. Mild earthy and fruity hop aroma. Taste is light sourish, semi-dry pale malts, earthy, almost resiny bitterness, and a faint citrussy fruitiness. Medium to light body strenght. Finishes superdry, with a lingering fruity bitterness. A quenching one, nice session beer.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - APR 6, 2009
Bottle (in), pouring a light golden colour with a foamy white head. A nice and healthy fruity hop aroma on a bed of juicy malt. A light mouthfeel, with the hops doing a good job of giving it a fruity flavour while still leaving it very sessionable. Just enough bitterness in the finish to bring you back for another sip. Surprised this hasn’t rated higher.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Sigmund (4162) - Tau, NORWAY - APR 2, 2009
500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.0%. Crystal clear pale golden colour, big to moderate white head. Moderate aroma of fruity hops, hint of apricots. Light bodied and refreshing: The flavour has distinct fruity hops on a moderately sweet bakground of malts, ending in a well balanced resinous and grapefruity bitterness. A nice little summer ale this one.

Bottled A still looking headless golden beer. An odd sulphuric note to the aroma which has some straw too. The taste has some orangey citrus hops lurking behind the same attributes as the aroma. Some odd things going on here.

Bottle, Beer Ritz, Leeds. Mmkay so its a mere 4percenter but surely this has been a tad underrated on here ? T’ain’t dat bad you know. Poured a darkish golden colour with a fading white head. Fragrant grassy hop aroma . Flavour was an appropriately lighty citrusy affair with a decent hop bitter finish that had a slightly mineral tang to it.
Ok, but I’ll stck with the other kind of Northern Light(s) for now. Ya dig?
