I was little bit afraid of this one. Not because of it being an Ale -I just love Ales- but because of its low alcohol content ;-) Clear deep golden colour with low steady head and medium to smooth body. Nose of mild hops. Taste of mild hops, grass, light honey and vanilla. Hints of woods and leaves. The taste is quite alright but it just finishes too thin and too weak. Maybe nice in a hot summer.

First the worst: Very unpleasant bitter end but you get used to it after a few sips. But beside that bad thing this beer is quite full of sweetish aromas like strawberries and loads of honey. Typical nice hops in the back and medium carbo. Nice, classy beer.

Pours a light orange-amber color. Medium white head that dissipates quickly. Light aroma of orange peel and flowers. Grassy hops in the flavor dominate what malt is there. Thin, slightly astringent mouthfeel.

First, this is one of the most formidable presentations of all beers. I love the label, although I’d expecte the name to be used for a stout. Never mind, as this bitter is a beauty. Cloudy coopery-golden with a creamy, long-lasting head, it has a rather ordinary burpy nose of hops with a background of malt. The flavour is just pefect for a bitter, malty, with biscuits, dulce de leche, and a hops bitter finish. And to crown it all, there’s a lovely tinge of raspberry released by the light carbonation. With a pleasant creamy palate, the Raven Ale would be my choice for a bitter every week when watching Game of Thrones. I wish it was available in New Zealand.

Bottle at La 100 de Beri, Bucharest, Romania. Fizzy, clear golden with white head. Hoppy-flowers and a little tropical fruit in the nose, hoppily bitter, a little dry, some skunk - but in a good way. Light-to-medium body, fizzy, long, bitter finish. Surprisingly hoppy, considering the relatively low abv.

Bottle, february 13th 2013. golden body, low white head, uninspiring look. As is the aroma, a mess of caramel and oats going no particular direction. taste of sour old hops and malt, too sweet, while the aftertaste is cardboard and hops. Either this beer or me, I don’t know, one of us is boring and ordinary.
