3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Holmen1 (1075) - NORWAY - DEC 2, 2012
Mye smak for sine sølle 3,8%. Definitivt et øl jeg kan drikke igjen, men helst på en varm sommerdag.

Light golden colour, decent white head, fair bit of carbonation. Floral aroma, some bitterness, a touch fruity, malty and rather tasty. For 3.8% ABV, it’s rather tasty. Like it.

A lovely golden pale ale, from the Orkney Islands of Scotland. Floral on the nose; Citrus on the palate, with a dry, yet bitter after-taste. Very nice indeed.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 tfredvik (630) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 1, 2012
This beer reminds me of my 1.5 year old son: he’s called Ravn, but his hair is blond instead of raven black. The Raven Ale isn’t black either, it pours a clear medium golden body with an amber tint. The head is off-white, slightly creamy, long-lived and leaves some lacing on the glass. The aroma is a bit faint, and not very interesting. Pale malts, faint fruits, a spicy touch and traces of yeast. Light sweet taste with a moderate bitter finish. It’s a very crisp and spicy bitterness that lingers on, without really being that bitter. The flavours are also rather faint, with caramel, spices, fruits (lemon) and grass. Light body and a watery to dry texture. There’s nothing wrong with the beer, it’s just too plain and boring.
[50 cl bottle, enjoyed 6 months before BB date, from Jacobs på Holtet, Oslo]
