From a 500ml bottle on 7/4/2011. Pours golden with a decent head. Doesnít have much of an aroma, but whatís there is a strange combo of grass, rice and paint. The taste is also quite unusual. There is some maltiness up front but itís dominated by a sour, salty, citric hop bitterness, which keeps on lingering. The palate is quite thin. Distinctive but not overly enjoyable.

TET (2261) - Kaarina, FINLAND - MAR 19, 2011
Copper brown beer with a medium and blond head. Aroma is malty, toffee, some red berries, rasberries and light hoppyness with fruits. Taste is also malty like aroma, biscuits, toffee, some lemon, medium bitterness and dry taste. Quite light to drink, but still lots of taste, medium carbonation, quite nice. Dry and malty beer, more aromatic hops would be needed to make this beer more aromatic and fresh.

Bottle from Vaaland Spesialbutikken, Bryne. Light orange body, medium off-white head. Nose is extremely bland, with only a few tiny caramel hints and not much else. Taste is even more disappointing: wishy-washy caramel ESB bland bullshit. Jesus, how boring can you get. Watery palate. Kinda "blah".

ALLOVATE (2727) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - DEC 19, 2010
Pours not quite bright, a misty medium orange amber. A fairly firm off-white pad forms atop, a good half inch thick, holds for the length and laces well, points! Aroma of heather, rose petals, sulphurous leavened dough and orange peel, very subtle. More alive in the mouth, it is weedy, raspy and sharply bitter, the hops, all resinous, piney and grassy dominate a lax effort of crystal malt flavours. Little sweetness to hold. Lingering hops in the swallow with a very long, drawn woodiness to it like sucking on matchsticks. Creamy, foamy mouthfeel, medium-light in body. A little too harshly hopped to be sessionable, really didnít come together for balance. Unimpressed, but to be fair a re-rate might be needed........, far, far down the track!!!
