Fra flaske på Cardinaltreff: en fruktig og lett bitter, og selv med beskjedne 4% er det en god øl som er verdt å kjøpe en flaske eller to av.

500ml bottle pours amber in color with a generous white head that leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is pleasant with citrus and caramel and floral notes. Taste is a nice balance of citrus bitterness and caramel malty sweetness with a clean finish. Light to medium body with some nice carbonation. A very nicely done ESB that is highly recommended.

Bottle. Dark amber cola color with a foamy beige head. sweet aroma of fruits, citrus and flowers. Dry bitter fruity taste. The body could be fuller. Bitter hoppy finish. Good looking label.

Bottle. Reddish amber with a tan head. Aroma is biscuit malt and slightly metallic. Flavour is rich caramel malt, biscuit, raisins leading to a bitter and slightly tart finish. I really enjoyed this comsidering I wasn’t expecting much from this considering it’s a low ABV and that it’s a ESB.

Tasted from 1pt 9oz bottle into nonic pint. It poured a mostly clear deep reddish amber color with a buttery off-white head, lasting with lots and lots of lace. Outrageously delicious aroma of rising dough, freshly baked crusty multi-grain bread, toffee and citrusy, earthy, resiny English hops. Near perfect. Good understated flavors: bready, slightly tart, smooth, dried dark stone fruits, silky Scottish yeast, cola/kvass caramellly sweetness, crispy breakfast cereal. Medium body, spritzy mouthfeel, lingering sweet aftertaste which eventually finished dry. Pretty magnificent, really unexpected for a 4% ruby ale! This is something I could keep drinking all evening long.

Mmm ymmy mummy. First Scottish world cask ale gold medal winner and worthy of it. Warm ruby happiness, thick dark fruits. Made me think of a currant Christmas. Caramel nose and crisp biscuit finish.

500mL bottle, split several ways, pours a clear / hazy copper with a small beige head. Aroma is quite coppery, with metallic notes, pale malts - not much else. Flavour of caramel, grainy English malt and a noticeable hop presence, but the hops are subjugated by the malts, despite the advertising as this being an intensely hoppy ale. Dominated most by the caramel and dry English malts. Quite decent.

Amberish brown, tan head, dark fruits and flowery hops with a malty and bitter taste that ends with some bitter sweetness. I have to say it was really quite good.
