3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at home. It pours darkest ruby-brown with a medium beige head. The nose is toasty, earth, vinous, dark fruits and a touch of caramel. The taste is bitter, earthy, wood, toast, scorched earth, leather, smoke, light peppery spice, vinous notes and dark fruits with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. I am pretty surprised how bitter this is fresh. Pretty unique stuff.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rating #1020 - March 10, 2014 - #mondaynightbeers solo at home - Bottle from Coop. Pours a deep ruby with a foamy off-white head that dissipates slowly, medium-strong retention. Aroma is mild toasted malt, hints of wildflowers. Hop presence is significant, giving the bitter character, but the breadiness of the malt is what makes this beer. Creamy mouthfeel Well balanced, medium bodied ale that is easy to drink. Best ESB I’ve ever had, superb.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a very dark ruby, almost brown, with a massive head and tremendous lacing. On the second pour from the bottle, flocculants were predominate and totally hazed what was a perfect appearance making it opaque. Light nose of caramel malt over a slight floral component. The body is almost medium with normal carbonation. The flavor is a mixed bag of citrus, biscuit, cherry and earthy hops. Finishes with a bit of tartness.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
500 ml bottle. Mostly clear darker red copper, fading tan foamy head. Aroma of sweet caramel, malt and dark fruit. Medium dark roast, toffee/caramel malt taste, riper dark fruitiness, quite floral. Softer than average carbonation, medium bodied, moderately hopped. Very robust for 4%, almost vinous near the end. Tasty! NFL (Not For Lagerboys)
