3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
500ml brown bottle. Deep orange body. Head is light tan, dense, tthick and long lasting. Lots of thick lacing. Nose has sweet malts, a bit of fruit and citrus peels. Taste is pretty hoppy, nice citrus notes, some sweetness and caramel malts, some fruitiness. Finishes hoppy with lasting grapefruity and orange peel like hops. Also a lasting malt note that is a bit earthy and nutty. Light body, mild carbonation. Lots of flavour for a lighter alc beer, and gorgeous in the glass. Overall this is a nicely hopped UK red ale that is richer and hoppier than expected.

Bottled 0,50L. Dark brown hazy color, nearly braced aspect with a foamy head of long duration. Very burned woody aroma, notes of braced malt, alcohol, roast cask, barrel and ash. Intense woody and alcoholic taste, ashed and dried mouth, medium smooth body with a long bitter end.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
pours a nice clear red color with a smallish head, quickly diminishing. Aroma is caramel malty with grassy, floral/herbal hop nose dominating quickly. taste was initial sweet caramel and finished with moderate spicy hop bitterness. medium light body, moderate to high carbonation. It’s an OK drink and safe bitter style, not at all like the scottish ale suggested on the label.

I imagine this was pretty good, but my bottle is highly oxidized. Nose of faint cherry, biscuit, flavor of rich biscuit, caramel. This seemed to be bottle conditioned.coffee,
