A Mes rate: Cask at Baker St. ’Sporks.
Dark brown with a bubbly but decent head and lots of lace. Quite toasty with some caramel and nutty notes and nice malt. good malt and hop balance in the finish. Not bad.

2cm white head tops the clear amber body. Strong cereal aroma presents obtrusive sugary bread flavours, rather grainy as well. Almost flat and seriously sweet which makes it not very drinkable. A slice of sandy bitterness attempts to cut through, but remains inefficient. No fruitiness. Quite dull, buttery and hard to drink in large quantities.

Cask at The Barony, Edinburgh. Copper colour, low head. Aroma is buttery. Smooth mouthfeel, probably deriving from the butterscotch. Pretty low bitterness. Light ashy smokey.

Cask (return system) at The Abbotsford, Edinburgh. Copper to chestnut coloured beer, moderate head. Lovely malty aroma with loads of butterscotch. The flavour is malty with plenty of caramel and some butterscotch, low bitterness.

[Cask from Paisley Beer Festival] Light brown/copper colour with a moderate foamy head. Nose is initially fruity but with notes of caramel and toffee. Body is medium with more fruit and toffee leading to a dry finish.

(Cask at Market Porter, Borough, London 27 Apr 2007) Dark reddish brown, tawny, colour with firm beige head. Fruity nose with dark fruit, raspberries, orange and lovely notes of citrussy hops. Fruity taste with dark fruit, raspberries, dried apricots, hints of chocolate and earthy/citrussy hops in the finish. Solid malt foundation throughout. Very taste, very drinkable. Excellent is the word!

Cask, Loughborough Fest 07. Red and brown with off-white foam. Aromas are sweet light malts with berries and floral spicy notes. Flavours are fruity and malty, quite herbal and flowery. Washes over the palate. Dry and fruity on the finish. Peppery on the aftertaste with some metal. Pretty good.

on cask: nice simple bitter. A little too smooth and not quite bitter as i was expecting. Still would be a great session beer.
