Commercial Description:
Available filtered in 330ml bottles.
"Named after Thorfin Hausakliuuf, the seventh earl of Orkney, this reddish coloured ale has an intense vinous nose, is rich and satiny in the mouth with a long dry finish and deep rich fruity notes. Described as ’Satiny smooth in the mouth, deceptively light and dangerously drinkable’."

The aroma is sweet and malty. The flavor is also sweet and malty, but with a smoke note too it. A great Scottish ale - but beware of the 8.5% ABV.

(Bottle 33 cl) Slightly hazy dark amber with a fine, dense almost cappuchinoish off-white head. Fat aroma of overripe fruit and alcohol. Full, fruity body with plenty of malt and some notes of wood. Quite fat and alcoholic with a subdued bitterness. A pleasant but far from great Barley Wine. 040906

33 cL bottle. Pours golden amber with a dense off-white head. Malty and light overripe fruity aroma. Sweet malt flavour, light bitterness following. Nice mix of this into the finish yet it goes very dry in the far finish.

Dark brown. Sweet, full bodied, lightly peaty, very complex. Delightful.

Bottle. Rich ruby color with a decent off-white head and the tiniest amount of lacing. The aroma is a little woody with dark fruits and a hint of spice. The taste is malty with some candy sugar notes. Dark fruits and nice alcohol, even a hint of chocolate ?

Bottled. Hazy brown colour, yellow/beigeish creamy head. Bitterish cranberry aroma with some notes of alcohol. Sweet plum and raisins in flavour along with hints of alcohol. The alcohol fits in well though. Very pleasant.

Bottle at ÅBF08. Sherryish aroma. Clear brown colour. Small tan head. Very malty flavour, well-balanced. Low bitterness.

Red-brown colour with a small beige head. Sweet malty aroma, but a bit acidic. Sweet malty/acidic taste with a nice hoppy finish. Though infected, it’s still a good beer.
