"Named after Thorfin Hausakliuuf, the seventh earl of Orkney, this reddish coloured ale has an intense vinous nose, is rich and satiny in the mouth with a long dry finish and deep rich fruity notes. Described as ’Satiny smooth in the mouth, deceptively light and dangerously drinkable’."

Bottle at Aye Aye Club, august 19th 2014. Clear amber body with a thich beige head. Aroma of toffee, plum, herbs. Taste is light roasty with a caramel sweetness dominating, alcohol, light fruity, metallic finish with subtle fruit hints and a strong toffee character, notable alcohol aftertaste. Not bad but probably one I wont have again.

Bottle. Pours clear copper brown with airy but stable off-white head. clear aroma of malt, barrel, vinous notes and booze in the long nose. Bitter flavour of hops and alcohol, complemented by sweet notes of caramel malt and fruit, and pronounced touches of barrel. Warming alcohol presence. Sweetish and boozy aftertaste. A good one.

Bottle. Pours dark orange, bubbly off white head that thins quickly. Malty sticky nose, holds promise. On the palate a little thin but balanced. Good complexity in a lightweight trappist style. Its problem is it’s neither quaffable or satisfyingly sippable.

Bottled, 330 ml. Clear copper colour, medium sized broad pored tan head, which leaves a thin film behind. Intensive smell of molasses, dried fruits and liquor. Malty aroma with molasses, alcohol, toffee and dried fruits, mouthfeel is syrupy and sticky. Long and dry, harsh liquorique and malty finish escorted by earth.

Trevlig luring.
