EHopper (80), Minnesota, USA May 2, 2008 Clear, copper color with beige foam. Has a little of that pear-banana baby food smell I am used to in this type of ale. Malty and fruity with a spicy alcohol finish. O.K., but not really worth another go.
pumpmaster (256), Florida, USA Jul 25, 2008 12 ounce bottle purchased at Total Wine Fort Lauderdale, FL for $2.29 Very good unclemike (258), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Jul 19, 2008 I poured the beer a little harsh so the top of the original head has a little stuck lacing, looks pretty good. The color is dark brown. Smell is sweet caramel with apple cinnamon/metalic scent with burnt sugar. The taste is sweet caramel with soft fruit tones like apple. The mouthfeel is enjoyable, not great, but enjoyable. The drinkability is fine, if I could find more I would have more.
MakeItDrinkIt (50), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 14, 2008 Slightly dark amber color with a thin to medium light tan head. Aroma is very roasty, lightly sweet, hods promise of a nice mouthful soon! Flavor is wonderful - richly roasted grains, toffee-klike. Very creamy mouthfeel. Some bits of rich dark plums, raisins, cherries, etc... but mostly just a very nice rich roasty sweeter maltier beer. MiP (4843), Flensburg, Germany Jul 13, 2008 Bottle at ÅBF08. Sherryish aroma. Clear brown colour. Small tan head. Very malty flavour, well-balanced. Low bitterness. FlyingSwine (97), Colorado, USA Jul 4, 2008 Bottle in English Pint. Pours a dark brownish-red, with a small tan head. No lacing. Aroma of fresh bread and/or chocolate cake. Flavor is dominated by malts: chocolate, some coffee, and fruit. Palate is smooth and creamy, just a touch dry, but not overly. Overall a very good beer..highly drinkable.
