Pours a very dark ruby/copper with a half inch of very small bubbled, creamy looking tan head. Aroma is earthy with a slightly tart malt sweetness. Taste is very malty at first, with a thick caramel and fruity body. A little spiced up too. Goes down like cream, with a pretty crisp finish that lets the alcohol slowly fade. Very warming, and easy to drink.

Jul 26, 2008 Very malty brew with strong caramel notes. Light hops with some fruity notes. Good Scottish but not my favorite. Alcohol hidden pretty well. Probably won’t buy again.

Jul 19, 2008 I poured the beer a little harsh so the top of the original head has a little stuck lacing, looks pretty good. The color is dark brown. Smell is sweet caramel with apple cinnamon/metalic scent with burnt sugar. The taste is sweet caramel with soft fruit tones like apple. The mouthfeel is enjoyable, not great, but enjoyable. The drinkability is fine, if I could find more I would have more.

Jul 14, 2008 Slightly dark amber color with a thin to medium light tan head. Aroma is very roasty, lightly sweet, hods promise of a nice mouthful soon! Flavor is wonderful - richly roasted grains, toffee-klike. Very creamy mouthfeel. Some bits of rich dark plums, raisins, cherries, etc... but mostly just a very nice rich roasty sweeter maltier beer.
