COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A classic dry porter with coffee, toffee and roasty notes in both the aroma and flavor. Black in color with a refreshingly dry finish. Reminiscent of the porters of old before the days of stouts.

dark brown, wispy beige head, dark chocolate aroma with a touch of sweetness, rich chocolate flavor, nice sweetness brings out the chocolate and gives it a slight milk chocolate character, touch of roasted mixes with a light bitterness for a light bitter finish,

Bottle from Liz. Pours brown/black with a creamy tan head. Aroma is chocolate with a little coffee and maybe a touch of anise. Med + body. Flavor is very dark chocolate with some gritty near-burnt malt and with a little coffee coming along. Anise? Maybe not. Definitely dry, but not particularly bitter. More like astringent from the burnt malt.

Draft at brewpub. Poured dark brown color with medium brown creamy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium roasted coffee and chocolate aroma. Medium to full body with a dry smoth texture. Medium flavor of roasted malt with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Solid brew.

A deep dark porter with a thin brown head. In aroma, a very pleasant coffee grain, bitter chocolate, nice burned point. In mouth, a classy porter with bitter chocolate, light cherry fruits, a bit light but good. On tap at brewpub, Jan. 7 2011,

Draft... Clear, very dark (almost black) ale... burnt orange when held up to bright light Small, creamy, off-white head with decent staying power. The aroma and flavor are all about chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Lightly acidic, moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium-bodied and creamy with very mild carbonation. Dry, astringent finish.

On tap at WDW. Poured medium-deep brown with a short cap of off-white head. The aroma was sweet and chocolatey with dry-roast to it and accents of peaty smoke.. just what I needed. The flavor didn’t come together as well.. dry-roasted black malts gave some chocolate character at the core, but not a whole lot.. faint smoke worked in its favor, as did light coffee bitterness, but both could have been more prevalent.. rather bland with black malts on the finish. Medium-bodied and dry on the palate with lower carbonation.. smelled better than it tasted.

On tap at Florida Brewers Guild Fest 2007. Poured deep dark brown with nice light brown head. The aroma is light and seems sort of sweet plus slight roasted maltiness. Flavor comes off a bit creamy but when I concentrate on the flavor it starts off smooth and somewhat neutral. About midway the roasted and burnt malts start to become distinct. A nice session Porter
