redlight (1030), Winter Park, Florida, USA May 10, 2008 bottle labeled orlando brewing red ale. Musty, caramel, crystal malts on the nose. Pours an amber red color. Caramelly, cereal grains, sweet crystal malts in the flavor, nothing special. This tastes like the orlando blond with more caramel malts?
changeup45 (530), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 17, 2008 Sampled at Orlando Ale House. Amber color with a moderate white head and some nice retention for lacing. Slightly sweet and fruity with a roasted finish. Very faint bitterness. A little thin and watery but it got better the further I worked through it. Not bad. BeerVirgin72 (556), C-Bus, Ohio, USA Jun 16, 2008 On tap at brewery. This was actually probably my favorite of the ones I tried. I like red and brown ales generally. Poured a nice copper color. Flavor was sweet toasted nuts, and maybe molases or carmel. Slight hop finish. Beerlando (1157), Orlando, Florida, USA May 22, 2008 Draft at Scruffy Murphy’s. Pours a clear copper color with a medium, frothy, off-white head. Sudsy lacing runs down the glass, with a few traces remaining as dry streaks. The aroma shows lightly toasted caramel malts, dry bread, and weak, floral hop notes. Flavors basically follow suit, with caramel, toast, and glazed biscuit showing through. The body is on the thin side, almost watery, making it very easy to drink, but not impressing. Finishes mostly clean. Eh....its a halfway decent brew, just kind of boring and lacking in substance. markwise (205), Orlando, Florida, USA May 18, 2008 Sampled from draft at Great Orlando Beer Festival. The beer I was poured was F-L-A-T, and while the aroma of sweet malt was there there was no carbonated backbone to support it. This beer was awful, and when I asked if the beer should be carbonated the gentleman replied "you have to go to the brewery to get it." It was watery with some malt to it. BIG disappointment... I am looking for a good Irish Red in Florida!
