DragonStout (1183), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 5, 2006 Pours a reddish amber.Lots of hop aroma.Flavor is full of malt and grains.Had tastes of liquis Cheerios. Not bad. This is much different than their Right on Red.Definately not the same brew. Earlier Rating: 12/8/2003 Total Score: 3.5 On tap at Rossis. This was a maroonish red beer that had a very malty taste.Reminded me of Killians. You can only get this on tap in 2 places in orlando.Good stuff with the pizza TomDecapolis (2481), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 14, 2008 On tap at the brewery. Pours a translucent ruby amber with a medium creamy/lacing white head. Aroma of fresh hops, toffee, caramel, floral notes and citrus. Flavor of hops, mixed citrus, caramel, toffee and fresh hops. OhioDad (2492), Hilliard, Ohio, USA Aug 31, 2005 12oz bottle via trade with Degarth - Thanks Joe! - Pours transparent amber with a big offwhite head that lingers and laces pretty well.. Nose is mostly caramel malts and yeast and something kind of sour that I can’t identify. Flavor is quite malty. Caramel, frosted flakes cereal, bread, a little bit of brown sugar. Palate is smooth and fairly robust for a red ale. Nice and malty. A nice lingering sweet caramel and brown sugar aftertaste finishes this off nicely. Not bad at all. This didn’t taste like it was retired to me. No way to tell by looking at the bottle though. FlacoAlto (2142), Tucson, Arizona, USA Sep 12, 2005 This beer is way overcarbonated, I have 1.5 inches of beer and 5 inches of foam in my Duvel Tulip. The beer is a hazy, orange-amber color and is topped by the afore mentioned prodigious tan colored head. The aroma is a tad sharp and astringent with perhaps a hint of thin malt. The beer has a sweet maltiness to it up front that accentuates a fruitiness that is reminiscent of strawberries, plums, and a hint of cherry. The finish is a little astringent, and a little bitter. Overall this beer is pretty drinkable, it is most likely lightly infected, but if anything this is adding to the character of this beer. It tastes like a malty regular strength Belgian Ale. Cobra (1033), In the snake pit, Maryland, USA Mar 9, 2004 On tap at the Florida Tap Room, Orlando, Florida. An Irish Red Ale style beer. Came to me in another huge pint glass.
(Do they serve in any other kind of glass?) Anyway, it was a deep mahogany color, with a more-than-decent white head that slowly slid back to a generous lacing. Aromas are the usual suspects, malts, barley, slight graininess, and hops. Yeasty bite to this bitch as well. Tasted very good, with the malts duking it out with the hops. I think the hops won, but I'll digress. Smooth mouthfeel reminds me of my own homebrewed Irish Red Ale. Who better to ask, than a 1/2 Irishman? Anyway, it finished smooth, and clean. A great take on the style.
