satan165 (133), River Grove, Illinois, USA Sep 21, 2008 on tap at brewpub. nice one finger head, very slight aroma of cocoa. even with decent carbonation, pallete is lacking. espically for this style, the commonly thin OB mouthfeel hurts the experience drastically. nose opens a bit after a few sips, flavor is of very slight chocolate binded with a metallic aftertaste which is quite numbing. aluminum begins to creep into the nose as well about half way through the glass. intense lacing. of the three OB beers i tried, this had the most carbonation, head and lacing yet the mouthfeel was barely as silky as id like or expect for the style. nose and flavor continue to evolve but this remains still beneath even a dirty old newcastle. changeup45 (578), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 6, 2008 Sampled on draft. Deep amber-brown color with a thin bar poured head. Sweet malty flavor with fruits and light hopping in the finish. Nothing all that complex but this is a pretty good beer. DragonStout (1183), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 14, 2008 Shared a sampler with BeerVirgin at the brewery. Pours a close to translucent brown color. The nose was roasted nuts and toffee. Flavor had a nuttiness to it with some hops.Didnt care for the hop presence in this brew.Finished off slightly sweet. BeerVirgin72 (598), C-Bus, Ohio, USA Jun 16, 2008 On tap at brewery. My other fav of the ones I tried. Poured a nice clear brown. Aroma of roasted peanuts! Taste was sweet sugar and malts. With a slight roasted quality. Hoppy finish. thill25 (191), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 20, 2008 On tap...Nice light brown w/ a slight off white head. Typical bar pour so there wasn’t much head...Aromas of toasted nuts and grains. The beer tasted very nutty w/ a subtle molasses taste mixed in. The finish was medium bitter with some lingering sweetness. The beer was a little too watery IMHO. Not bad though...
