COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle thanks to Glouglouburp!
Murky dark brown, thin beige head. Nose of heavy licorice, alcohol, cream, and minor oat. Light roast, oat, banana, and smoke in the flavor, unique combination that surprisingly works. Heavy banana through the finish. Quite enjoyable.

Bottle thanks to glouglouburp. Lots of rich roasted flavors. Some smoke and vanilla that takes the edge off the bitterness. Quite nice.

Odd aroma for the style. Lots of nuts, and some banana, reminds me of banana bread, with some roster malt and a touch of smoke. Flavor is much of the same but there is a prominent bitterness that is interesting. It’s really quite bitter and really sticks with you after the nutty breadiness. Interesting take on the style.

500 mL bottle. Pours almost opaque, with a little ruby where the light gets through. Nice little head. Looks great. Strong roast and nuts aroma, with a little sweetened chocolate in there as well. Not bad. Flavour goes through several stages, with chocolate, caramel sweetness, distinct alcohol, and a bitter (roast) finish. Body is creamy, but thin for the style. Somehow, this one is not quite the sum of its fairly impressive parts.

Imperial stout or imperial porter? Not too thick as a stout, yet clearly roasty. Pours dark, a modest white head. Roasty stouty, very consistent roastiness, and you can smell it. Overall like a 1.5 not imperial, some chocolate. Decent drinkability, there is some sourness in the finish that is strongly malted away. Significant nuttiness.

My bottle (500ml) shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus -- c/o Viper666. Pours a dark, deep ruby-brown with a large fluffy beige head. Nice aroma, roasty along with coffee, sweet dark fruit, chocolate, light hops and alcohol. Dry flavour follows the aroma but with more alcohol then the aroma suggests. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good stuff.

500ml. Thanks, BitBucket! Pours black with a nice creamy light tan mousse. Nice big toasty, smoky nose. Creamy medium body with nice propulsive carb that brings the smoke to life on the mid-palate. Rich, dark, smoky roasty flavors swirling through to a long, smoky, and slightly salty finish.

Shared by Blankboy with HogTownHarry and I. Appearance: Ruby brown/red with a small off white head. Aroma: Chocolate, roasty, peat, yeast and spices - lovely. Flavour: Spicy and malty, alcohol, peat with quite a dry finish. Not bad at all.

Bottle (500ml). Shared by blankboy with me and garthicus. Deep, deep ruby pour with a huge fluffy beige head (bit of a gusher). Roasty and fruity, moderate alcohol (9%? no!) - nutty and some coffee, cocoa and licorice. Taste follows - almost too mellow, not boozy at all, soft and fruity, almost like a candy bar. Creamy, lightly carbonated mouthfeel, mellow finish, a little over-roasty in the linger. Wonderful.

Bottle from Bonisoire that I brought to a tasting at Andy’s. Pours a solid black with a medium beige head. Wood, hops, molasses, chocolate, plums on the nose. Thick, partially from the carbonation. Sweet, and touches of chocolate. Ends with a nice bitterness.
