500 ml bottle from La Barik. Pours a cloudy darkish amber with small off-white head. Aroma is mostly of caramel with some piney, peppery hops that seem rather under stated for a DIPA. Flavour has strong caramel taste with piney, spicy, slightly citric hoppiness more pronounced than in the aroma. Alright.

50cl bottle, thanks Lubiere. Lightly hazed dark amber body topped by large off-white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, pine, some grapefruit, bread. Taste is moderately sweet, pine, pepper, caramel, some alcohol. Medium body, low carbonation. Not bad, just fairly nondescript.

Rastacouere (6154) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 10, 2011
Clearish yet sedimented aplenty, pale copper ale wearing a healthy off-white foam. Subtle coniferous hints peak through the green hop nature of this proclaimed IPA that should probably not be described so. Dense crystal malts provide a strong sense of sugariness with evocations of caramel and honey. The malts dominate being toasty, but very sweet all throughout, with the hops kicking in with a serious bitterness that comes accompanied with a dash of citric acidity that clashes into the bitterness more than it does into the sweetness. Leafy, tea-like tannic finish. Not very aromatic and rather simplistic for a 8.5% strong ale.

Bière de 8.5 % d’alcool. Double IPA.

First sniff is unwelcoming, for an IPA. Bland, uncharacteristic, malty. One sip and BAM! Malty sweetness and nice mouthfeel. Hops keep their place but they’re not overwhelming. Keeps on going.... Great beer.

Pours a reddy coat with an ample loose head that settles to a frothy white ring. Smells of citrus and just a souçon of cat pee and some hay. Taste is spicy hop - peppery actually, reminding me slightly of chile pepper or even a faint hint of habañero... really odd, but there is also the citrus to the hop, which nicely complements the caramel-but-not-unctuous malt base. Some mouth-smacking mineral and hints of pine forest. OK the peppery thing subsides, it is pretty good. Bottle thanks to Au Coin Duluth.

Hazy amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of heavy oxidation, citrus, grass, cardboard, toffee, and light pine. Taste of citrus, grass, stale malts, light caramel. Probably a bit old.
