Bottle @ RG 20. Very dark with mocha head and light lacing. Smells chocolaty, and cherry-y. Nice and bitter and roasty. Nice bitter finish.

From the bottle poured a very dark brew with a thin tan head. Aromas and flavors of heavy sweet malt with a nice little hop finish.

Bottle shared by Kinz at the 20th Richmond Gathering. Thanks! Pours a dark reddish-brown color with not much of a head. Nice roasty, chocolate aroma with some nuttiness and dark fruits. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, dark fruits, mild hops. Medium bodied, well balanced, quite tasty.

La D’esgly, qui nous montre un prêtre sur son étiquette, est une extra stout à 7.5% d’alcool. Cette bière d’un noir d’ébène nous donne un collet épais et beige. Au bouquet, le café et la réglisse rouge sont prédominants. En bouche, le café explose et l’arôme sucré que nous donnait la réglisse s’est sauvée en courant. Bonne bière noire! Belle amertume. Bon petit goût de chocolat très noir. Ce n’est pas du tout mon type de bière et j’ai pourtant bien apprécié, ce qui est ma foi sans aucun doute un bon signe. Cheers!

Almost tastes like a strong Imperial Stout ; the roasted barley is dominant. Coffee, chocolate and hops are very discernable. A nice, powerful stout that’s true to the style.

Bottle via MartinT in trade. Pours a shimmering slick black with a growing burnt sienna head. Nose of nuts mixed with dark patent malt. Head settles to half an inch upon a sea of black. Godzilla big body. Bakers chocolate and cocoa intermixed with a hefty malt base marches on and on in my mouth. Hops appear meagerly near finish as a small volume of dark fruit meander about. An extended declining finish of the main body lingers for some time. A very enjoyable brew.

On tap at brewpub, dark black with a big light brown head that lasts forever and leaves nice looking lace. Lot?s of notes of coffee and cocoa. Taste like coffee and dark chocolate with not even a sniff of the high abv. Excellent beer!

on tap at brewpub. very dark brown, almost black, with a creamy long lasting dark beige head. tons of chocolate, coffee, some burnt caramel. some smoke. light vanilla. hint of sweetness. soft carbonation, full body, decent coffee and resinous finish.

En bouteille de 500ml. Une robe opaque au reflet rubis. Une légère mousse qui s’évade aussitôt arrivé. La vanille s’épanouie pour laisser place au chocolat. Une légère note de café et de malt suivent et le tout se termine par une amertume toute délicate. C’est le café qui reste en bouche.
