Black with a minimal brown head that dissipate very quickly, like if there was too much acidity in this beer. Aroma is dark chocolate, cacao, coffee, vanilla. Full body with soft carbonation. In mouth, is like a bitter coffee with dark chocolate and a bit of cacao. Finish is chocolate with a oily feeling in the mouth for a while.

Good stout with strong roasted malt taste and an undercurrent of chocolate. Could be a bit thicker and creamier though, that is what is lacking to make it into a great stout.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2012 Very thick-looking, pitch black ale. Has a thick, brown head with nice retention. Leaves little lacing on the glass. Tastes of strong cocoa and torrefaction, a bit of burnt toast, too. Very good level of carbonation for a stout. Light bitterness follows, very persistent taste. Has a full body and thick texture. A most excellent stout.

Pours a jet black topped with a deep brown head, spots of lacing here and there. Enticing aroma of roasted malts, coffee beans, and dark chocolate. Big roasted profile in the flavor carries through to an abrupt, slightly dry finish with pleasant burnt notes lingering behind. Very smooth on the palate and the alcohol is very well disguised; a great stout and seems to go down almost too easily!

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty weak smoky chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate finish with hints of caramel.

Bottle - 500ml. Opaque black body with low carbonation and a thin brown creamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with roasty and chocolate hints. Alcohol is well hidden. Soft texture and robust taste that carries roasty and coffeeish notes. Ends with a long, warming bitter/roasty finish. Well done.

500 ml bottle from La Barik. Pours an inky virtually black brown with small light brown head. Sweet, rich, slightly roasty aroma with treacle, cocoa and even a little vanilla. Taste is lightly roasty with rich treacle, dark fruit and dark chocolate. Silky mouthfeel. Very nice.
