3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Served cellar temperature from a 12 ounce can.
it pours a clear red with an ample had a foam about two fingers worth.
The smell has a kind of a spicy hop aroma with a solid malt backbone. I would describe the hop aroma is a piney like with slight grapefruit.
The taste well it’s very hoppy, pine with a low level of grapefruit, spicy hops permeate the flavors. The malt comes across as caramel malt sweetness some grain. The flavor from the hops create a really bitter note that last right through to finish.
The mouth feel borders on full with adequate carbonation on.
This certainly is a full flavored India pale lager that can fill you up pretty quickly so the drinkability is not off the charts but it’s very good.

On tap @ F.X. McRory’s, Seattle. Tawny amber with a thin off-white head. Toasty grains with soft fruity undertones, pleasantly full bodied. Better than expected.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark amber with foamy beige head, lively beer, close to doppelbock and dunkler bock for malt sweetness. And oh, that kick. Relatively smooth with plenty of alcohol warmth, grain/malt sweetness with a mild bitter finish.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Looks like a malty ipa. Some what smooth quality must come from the yeast, but pairs a bit oddly. Drinkable, but probably won’t be drink in much of the India pale lager style

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
16 oz can from Lifesource in Salem.
Pours a good looking deep gold almost light amber in colour with a huge eggshell white frothy thick head.
Sweet fudgey malts with an wgiff of grassy hop.
Smooth caramel and hop taste..very well balanced, malts win..this is like a bock or maybe a GREAT malt likka!
LIked the mouth feel on this ..thickish and creamy.
I have to say i liked this beer but it is not an IPL.
THis is however a great Malt liquor!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
16oz can, no discernible date code. Pours a clear deep amber with a frothy white head. Aromas of caramel and baked bread. Not much hop aromas in the nose. Taste is semi sweet and lightly bitter. Flavors of caramel, biscuits, lightly bitter. Tastes industrial, not hand crafted. Heavily filtered. Force carbonated. Spritzey. Baked bread all over the place along with some floral hops. Finishes on a note of Czech Republic polotmavy. This should probably be reclassified as a polotmavy, seems spot on for the style and tastes almost identical to the top tier examples I’ve tasted.

Can:   Deep dark amber, large foamy sandy head, nice lacing, light to moderate carbonation.   Faint biscuit nose, pale breadiness, some mild grainy notes.   Imperial Pils.... really?   Rather biscuit on the tongue.   Has a hefty malt sweetness, some bit-o-honey like candy bar, with a touch of that grainy aspect I got on the nose.   Never would think of this as an Imperial Pils.   Not all that crisp, but it is clean.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   A touch warming after a while.   Its like a big Amber with some aspects of some heavy Czech lagers.   Tiz okay, but gets to be a little cereal like after the finish.   Strange...
