COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In contrast to all the others, the Orval Trappist brewery makes only one beer for the general public. It has an intensely aromatic and dry character. Between the first and second fermentations there is also an additional dry-hopping process. Through this the beer acquires its pronounced hoppy aroma and extra dry taste.

A beautiful beer. The pour is a murky golden orange body with a thick two fingers of off white head. Aroma is earthy and slightly sour with sweet malty notes. Mildly fruity aroma and taste with a hint of citrus and apricot. Slightly sour taste as well. Such an easy to drink Belgian. Love it.

Pours a hazy orange with a huge white head that sat for what seemed forever, aroma is full of spices, flowery hops and some sour and funk notes to top it off, the flavor is very sharp with the spices and distinct yeast with a little bit of funk mixed in as well, the mouthfeel is a tad dry but it totally works with this beer, sooooo good.

From a 330ml bottle on 21/1/2011. Pours a murky golden orange, with some yeast sediment. The head on this one was massive, and I had to let it settle for quite a while to down it without experiencing a carbonation explosion. The aroma is primarily sour apples, spices and a little musk lolly. Taste wise, there is a touch of spicy sweetness up front, but it’s dominated by a tart, sour apple taste, and is exceptionally dry (has definite wine like qualities). Perhaps I just got a dud bottle (which is rather lovely from an aesthetic standpoint), but this proved to be a massive disappointment given its score on here. There was something bordering on unpleasant about this one.

Really good beer. Flowers in aroma. Taste is quite dry, still interesting and unique.

Wow, let me just say, what a head on this beer, absolutely amazing, I had to pour it into two different glasses to make it all come out of the bottle. It just calls... "Drink me".... "Drink me".... A floral, hoppy aroma, maybe a slight brett character, extremely complex, interesting. First sip is quite floral, not quite sour but it seems to be getting there. Great stuff, I think I picked up an older bottle, a bit more booziness to it. Excellent!

Bottle @ Home. Pours hazy golden orange with a huge fluffy white head. Aroma of green apples, yeast, spices. Taste of green fruit, funky yeast, white pepper, spices, lots going on. Medium body, soft carbonation, e´refreshing bitter finish. Unique and refreshing beer. 160111
