OD40oz (600), Box Elder, South Dakota, USA Dec 6, 2008 Orange copper look with a thick white head. You could smell the hops, grains and a hint of citrus. A tough beer to describe but a good one to drink. EFC1878 (291), Manchester, Greater Manchester, England Nov 29, 2008 Updated: May 2, 2009Cloudy orange coloured with very lively off white head. Almost looks like a wheat beer. Very orangy-citrus nose with lots of yeast and a hit of scrumpy apple. Complex and subtle interplay of flavours - the full range of citrus from grapefruit through lemon and hints of lime to orange, both sweet and bitter; grainy malt perfectly balanced by a complex hop character; hints of vanilla at the edges. High carbonation makes it lively on the palate. kpresley77 (133), Jackson, Georgia, USA Nov 27, 2008 Bottle pours hazy orange/copper with thick off white head. Aroma is sweet citrus. First taste is slight sweetness, then a citrus bitterness balances out very well. Very high carbonation and watery mouthfeel. Unlike other belgians I have had but very good. Kind of like a belgian wit but no yeast or bread aromas or flavors. Better than the westy blond. Travlr (700), Washington, Washington DC, USA Nov 27, 2008 Updated: Oct 31, 2009A unique Trappist with an orange/amber color, lacy white head, and tastes of citrus/orange and coriander. Medium mouth. Good bitter finish. Mellows slightly with age if kept well. Very nice. guyinchicago (516), marengo, Illinois, USA Nov 27, 2008 Updated: Dec 23, 2008bottle bottlled on 2-20-08 poured a hazy orange with brownish hue thick off white haed, with aromas of spice, grains, hops, bananas and flowers taste of bread, pepper ciotrus, corrinder and alcohol bitter not to sweet of a finish very good belguim ale Wasatch (270), Layton, Utah, USA Nov 27, 2008 Pours a cloudy orange/yellow color, nice carbonation, huge foamy head, tons of lacing throughout the drink. Scents of hops, malts, somekind of citrus, floral. The taste is alittle bitter, and sourery, hard to describe really. Medium body. This is a very nice brew, my first Belgian Pale Ale I believe, so really nothing to compare to, but it’s totally different than other Belgian’s I’ve had. Would recommend for sure.
terrybail (331), London, Ontario, Canada Nov 26, 2008 Updated: Mar 15, 2009330ml bottle from the SAQ as part of a trade for a server cabinet :)
The aroma is amazing yeasty bready and nutty and a touch of banana
Pours a nice hazy amber with a HUGH 3 finger effervescent white head minimal lacing
I was expecting a lot more from this in the taste department due to the smell and appearance
The taste is a little bit thin and effervescent with a touch of spice and honey
This is a good beer just not as good as i was expecting
alexkeil (20), New York, USA Nov 20, 2008 Great shape to the bottle, simple and classy logo...such a smooth and balanced flavor with hints of spice and citrus...I can’t say anything bad about this brew it would be just knitpicking
