11.2oz, pours a cloudy/murky orange. It had a beautiful, long lasting off-white (but constrained) head. Very spicy, flavors of tangerines, oranges, hops and pine... a bit sour. REALLY well balanced and an excellent dry finish. I love this beer.

One of my new favorites. Poured a dark orange/gold with a big head that slowly sank back into the glass. Great aroma of citrus and spice. Tickled my nose. The flavor was near perfect, a well balanced beer. Will purchase again!

Pours a murcky golden raisin color. Nice sized foamy head. Tons of lacing. Aroma citrus, malts and spice. The beer starts off tasting good but has a rather dry bitter finish that I don’t really care for.

33cl bottle, hazy orange colour, huge foamy white head, complex aroma of yeast, hops, citrus and spices, sour citrus flavor, bitter finish with hint of alcohol and spices notes

From bottle. Aroma of sour black cherry and faint musty-herb mineral. Very effervescent, no head, dry, light body, and somewhat hazy with off-white/pale yellow color. Super-astringent and fizzy sour cherry punch, like Pop Rocks on the tongue. Flavor lasts. Not to be forgotten.

The smell from Orval is hypnotic .....floral spices,peppery spice..perfume ,apple scrumpy,funky yeasty strain, sweat .Orval has an almost supernatural texture.
Beautiful glowing orange ..the head rises like a motherfucker ,like fluffy clouds . Biggest beer head ive seen.
It tastes sublime.I mean holy shit this is nice. A dry and floral ale...with a big dose of base maltiness .Fruity palate ..I get orange peel, spicy citrus hops.. sometimes sage. With different ranging on the brett ,depending on age , Orval’s fUnK signature is variable.

Bottle from 5/2007. Huge head this time! Great orange-copper color, fizzy and calling my name. Singular aroma of hops, some funky yeast, grass, citrus. Very hoppy, citrus, funky flavor with a bit of caramel malt. There still is really no other beer like this! Smooth, and you can taste the alcohol, but fabulously complex for such a light beer. Feel like drinking water later, as the finish is so dry. Love it. Bought a whole case so I’ll probably be re-doing these ratings over the next year or so.

11.2oz. bottle, bottled on 10/11/2005, so just a couple weeks shy of 3 years old. Opens with a noticeable fizz, pours a clear golden with slight orange tint and a very effervescent towering fluffy head, excellent retention and lacing - beautiful in the glass! Aroma is citrusy, sour, bretty, light white grape skin, some orange peel and the lightest of spice. Flavor is lighter than the aroma lets on; many familiar notes from the aroma, but with a bit less intensity, followed by a dry finish. Very well done, and well worth storing a few bottles to see what even more age does.
