In contrast to all the others, the Orval Trappist brewery makes only one beer for the general public. It has an intensely aromatic and dry character. Between the first and second fermentations there is also an additional dry-hopping process. Through this the beer acquires its pronounced hoppy aroma and extra dry taste.
Bottled at 5.2% abv - can go up as high as 7.2%

A fine Belgian Ale, it always surprised me, considering the depth of flavour in this beer that is so weak in alcohol relative to other Belgian "big" beers. It’s even weaker than Leffe Blonde. This is a compliment rather than a criticism. the ability to create such a dry full flavoured beer that doesn’t send you to sleep after three bottles is greatly appreciated in my manor. The beautifully designed bottle and glassware add to the feeling that you are onto something very special here. While still available in many bars it getting harder and harder to find, no longer available in. Belgian supermarkets only specialist beer shops seem to have a regular stock these days.

Enough foam to keep the battleship afloat. Cloudy caramel hue, lively effervescence. Melodic honey, autumn fruits and hop scents straight from uncapping. Earthy flavors. Not bitter, not sweet with excellent balance and no real aftertaste. Refreshing in mouth without noticeable alcohol presence despite the 6.9% ABV.

Grande birra!

The best beer (my favorite), really tasty, not too ’heavy’ and not too ’light’. It’s color is beautiful and so the froth.

This beer combines what I like best about belgian trappist and english IPA. The result is an extremly well-tasting beer. One of my top-5 in the world!
