Commercial Description:
In contrast to all the others, the Orval Trappist brewery makes only one beer for the general public. It has an intensely aromatic and dry character. Between the first and second fermentations there is also an additional dry-hopping process. Through this the beer acquires its pronounced hoppy aroma and extra dry taste.

bottle served in a tulip glass. hazy amber pour with a thick off-white head. nose of lemon rind, banana, and some yeasty spiciness. very unique tart bready taste with some noticeable citrus and barnyard characteristics. nice dry finish that leaves some bitterness and alcohol warmth at the base of your throat. head lasts throughout the entire glass. interesting and quite different, and I am glad that I have tried it, but it isn’t something that i could see myself drinking again.

Finally got around to picking up this classic. Pours a nice hazy golden orange with huge off-whitish head. Aroma is of malt, spices, light fruits and hops. Flavor is dry with spices and hops with notes of light fruits and a touch of alcohol. Best belgain brew I have had and a pleasure to finally try.

(Bottle). Overall, a disappointing experience, despite the lovely bottle and glowing reviews. Aroma light, fresh, and very fruity. Pours off white, with a huge creamy head. Cloudy medium amber color. Flavor light and sweet with many subtle fruit notes. Very dry texture, and very light body. An easy beer to drink, but not one that impressed me with anything particularly special.

Great smelling beer. Didn’t quite have the depth of flavor I’ve come to expect in a Belgian Ale but that doesn’t change the fact that this beer is quite tasty and far more casually drinkable than any other Belgian ale I’ve had before.

Bottled: Thanks Tiki Taylor for the rate! Pours a orangish yellow color with full froathy head. Smells of malts and fruits; has lots of carbonation and a hoppy fruity taste.
