Bottle. Pours very deep black, with a tan head that disappates. Full bodied, high carbonation, fine bubbles. Aroma is strong of roasted malt, smoky coffee & pine. Taste is roasted malts, & roasted coffee. Palate is dry & too high in carbonation. Finish is malty roasted malts, then slightly drys. Too high in carbonation and too rich in roasted coffee.

A nice unexpected stout. Until I came home with this and saw that it was contract brewed by Carlow, I was thinking this was going to be a watery, tasteless, forgettable stout, but in fact this is the opposite. Nice roasty malt backbone with a distinctive chocolate and coffee finish that makes this a really nice treat.

Mahogany brown, big tan head. Dusty roast malt and hints of chocolate in the aroma. More subtle roast malt in the flavour balanced by a gentle bitterness from the hops. Oily texture, quite a thin mouthfeel means easy drinking, and medium carbonation. Finish is nice and malty. Very good and great value.

Deep dark brown, beautifully creamy with good beige good. Beautiful aroma of roasted malt, campfire bitterness and pine. Full bodied, lovely meaty substantial texture and the malts and bitterness carry through on the taste really nicely. Very moreish.
