Aroma: sweet fruity aroma, caramel sweetness,sweet fruity apple, light vanilla, touch of oak
Flavor: sweet caramel and whiskey flavor, caramel and vanilla sweetness, good dose of earthy hops, light bitterness
Overall: always happy to see it work when a big beer is put in a whiskey barrel, a lot more apple character than expected, the hops still hang in there adding to the complexity rather than getting in the way

Draft: Oak and clay nose, pear hints, volatile. Murky ochre, headless. Apple, clay, apricot. Medium, body, soft, warm. Dirty, but in a good way.

A - pours apricot honey with 1 finger fluffy long lasting head. S - soft and muffled smells. The barrel aging killed the aromas. Bourbon, rye, vanilla, sweet Hawaiian white bread rolls. Sweet sugary apple cider. Musty wet wood. Very very light banana esters. M - fluffy carb. Sticky sweet mf. Full heavy body. Very muddled. Dry and sticky with a hot end. T - sweet white bread rolls ( those Hawaiian rolls) banana/peach esters. Vanilla, whiskey. Malty and bitter. O - Odd. Whiskey and wonder bread. So sweet. It's so complex but it just does not work. Barrel aging is not always the answer. 3.3

This is one of the better IPAs I have ever had. It’s so well balanced, the bitterness of the hops won’t overpower you, which is a great thing. The malt is subtle, but not too much so, and the aroma is one of the best on an IPA I’ve ever sniffed. Had this one a few times, and definitely would jump at the chance to taste it again.

Tap @ Star Bar. Reddish brown appearance with a decent off white head. Pear fruity, floral, potpourri, slightly toasty, light caramel aroma. Somewhat fruity, a bit boozy, light whiskey, floral hoppy, caramel malty flavor. Ok but I don’t think the barrel improves the beer at all.

On tap at Star Bar for Denver off the Wagon’s first anniversary party. Hazy-ish orange amber with a nice foamy white head. Aroma is really complex with tones of flowery hops, apple, whiskey oak, orange rind, and a toasty caramel, which all comes together nicely. Flavor seemed kinda sloppy with apple and whiskey oak clashing with floral hoppy caramel in a boozy flavor with a medium and kinda watery body. Watery start on the palate too. Kinda weird. Floral hoppy apple boozy...wasn’t too keen on this one.
