Draft at the source. Hazy amber brown color, small tan head. Aroma of peppery granola. Taste is dusty soft roast, maybe slightly sour. Interesting.

Sample @ Oskar Blues in Asheville. Hazy deep brown with a small head. The nose is somewhat spicy. Cinnamon toast crunch cereal. Cracked pepper. Toffee-glazed donut. The taste has some licorice, anise, fennel. Earthy dark roasted chocolate and smoked herb accents. Medium body, active carbonation. All over the place, but still quite pleasant.

4oz on tap at the brewery in Brevard, during RBWG. Black color. Nice thin brown head. Good thicker lace. Nice head retention. Light to medium body. Kind of a soft, lighter carbonation. Nice light chocolate, roast notes. Moderate bitter taste, light sweet. Some orange citrus. Very interesting stuff, but I’m not sure that this works. Some nice roast in the finish; ginger. Black character is reasonably well masked.

phaleslu (6665) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 17, 2014
Draft at Oskar Blues - Brevard. Pours a deep brown with a big khaki head. Aroma of clove, nuts, toast, chocolate, and soap. The flavor is very dry, with toast, wheat, nuts, earth, and mild spice. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a dry mouthfeel. Not bad.

Black pour with tan head and lace. Aroma is dry coffee and a flat papery finish. Flavor is roasted malt and the same papery wheaty finish. Medium body with good carbonation. ok

TURDFERGUSON (3963) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - FEB 17, 2014
Tap at Oskar Blues Brevard. This was a pretty ho-hum wheat ale, and especially bad when you compare it to the New Glarus beer with a similar name. Sorta lemony, some ash, and a lingering roast character on the palate. Not one of their best efforts.

Black with a medium sized tan good and good lacing. Mild aroma of roasted malts and wheat. Flavors of roasted malts, grainy and coffee
Nice, light

Leighton (11612) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 16, 2014
Draft at the NC brewery during RBWG 2014. Pours black with a foamy, beige head. The nose holds burnt cereal, toast, bread. Odd taste with light notes of lemon, bread, herbs. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with light earthy bitterness, more lemon. Meh, awkward.

>> Thanks Maxx for the share. Pours black, great beige foam. Nose is tootsie roll, apple. Taste is tart, watery, apple, soil. Weird. Palate is thin, watery, chalky.

Draft at brewery pours black. Nose burnt roast and some peppery spice. Taste some spice up front, roast, then wheat. Light bitter finish. Thin mouthfeel.
